i know it's freaking easy to make fun of wiggins.still,if you check his performances from the mountains of le tour 2009,that's not laughable,check verbier fuccin insane wattage a la armstrong in his best days.so if he'll come close in power,endurance and recovery compared to 2009,the brit can break the top 5 yet again.it's not something i will bet against.

on a whole the mountains were jokes. A real course, with multiple testing stages would have seen him out the back.

Anyway the 09 tour wasn't soft peddaled.
The course was just designed poorly, and discouraged caranage in the mountains. It very much suited the TT / climb hang on riders.

Wiggans will no way challange for a top 5 spot on this course.

I think it's game over for Basso at his chance at the Tour. And I hope VDB2 didn't peak too early. But his first professional win is more important than a fifth at the Tour without stage wins I guess.

Because I don't see how a win in the Dauphiné compares to a fifth place in the TdF. VDB would never have been such a "well known" rider if he didn't end 5th in the Tour last year. Taking 5 stages in the Dauphiné wouldn't have gotten him that kind of attention. People took him very serious because of that 5th place, despite him having no wins.

Be realistic, he lost time in the last Km. Wait for the real mountains to come later this weekend.
