Thanks guys. I guess they had TT handlebars though?
I think this shows that TT bikes are not needed anyway. The results more or less stay the same on road bikes. TT bikes=waste of money

They hadn't

So no crowds, plenty of smog, no split times, Martin wins by 20 seconds and barring illness, injury or tactical calamity wins the overall and picks up as many ranking points as you get for winning the Dauphine.

Thank god theres some Italian one day races to keep us occupied.

S. Sanchez has a gastrointestinal virus. Some riders in a few teams have been complaining about sickness similar to what Samu has.

Stage 3 will be pretty good I think. Many teams want points and they have no reason not to attack. I think the orange army will go nuts. Tony Martin has been dropped on easier parcours...

Tony trashing all those little clowns like nothing. Fantastic:D:D

Lars Boom a clown! Like it.:p Actually watching Froome catching Bookwater for a minute made it worth while to watch.. Enjoyed that.

Tony Martin is the quarry now and we will find out what he's made of. ;)

the climbs are minimal, a few hundred metres in 4km, and the final descent is pretty much straight, in fact the final 5km is flat and straight.

I'm really struggling to take this race seriously. Is it all over after one stage???

There is really no wonder that the 'world tour' is perceived as such a joke.

I watched today for the lack of anything better to do  - and the parcours is decidedly unappealing.

Considering that many teams have sent pretty decent riders in the hunt for world tour points, it could have been a pretty good idea. But it needs a decent course, and this aint it!!!!!

To defend the Tour of Beijing, its not so long ago that the Tour Down Under and Tour of California were new races, and look at them now.

Instant WT status is a sham though, especially when the organizer of the race is the same institution that decides which status each race gets. Tour of Qinghai Lake and its .HC status was already a stretch, but at least that did promote cycling the proper way without forcing anyone to compete.

Beautiful part of South Wales, The SAS train in this neck of the woods and fantastic cycling territory.
