Shows the value of smoothness - he didn't look to be pushed at all. Westra looked like he was going to kick his bike to bits the way he thrashed it out of the corners.

Although to be serious, congratulations to Boom as he deserves to win. Nice to finally see a Sky stage win and I was impressed with and rather surprised at Cummings' time trial, he certainly did worse in the Algarve TT when fighting for the GC (although maybe winning the hill top finish against none other than Bertie might have tired him more than yesterday's stage).

I think partly it being February and not in form, and partly the competition including the likes of Tony Martin, contributed to his less impressive Algarve TT.

That has more to do with the weak field than it being weird. If HTC can sometimes pull this off in the Tour then they're going to constantly do it in a lesser stage race like Britain.

4 stages out of 8 finishing with a team 1-2, and not just HTC. That's pretty clearly out of the ordinary, weak field or no weak field.

Even on the HTC ones, Rabo have a sprinter and the horse power to get involved - Sky the same.

Theo Bos sucks at positioning and the roads at Britain kinda suck so I've heard. The finish was probably a bit technical. As for Sky, their tactics are the only weird thing about this race

If that doesn't make the organisers try to make it more difficult I don't know what will.

What happened to the Swansea finish from last year? That was good.

Well, next year Cavendish should show up at the Tour of Belgium then. I wouldn't mind to see him get thrown around by Gilbert and Boonen.
