You often wait a long time for results from some Spanish and Belgium races. I doubt all these races are run by amateurs.

I wonder what happens now? I imagine tomorrow is definitely cancelled? maybe even the rest of the tour - which is annoying considering prince pidcock could have been crowned king by the end of it.

Although the finer details are not public knowledge there is an understanding that there will be a ten-day period of mourning for the Queen's passing.

During the time of mourning, sports events are likely to be postponed across the UK.

It is such a long time since the death of a monarch that many national organisations won’t know what to do. The official advice, as it was last time, will be that business should continue as usual.
...
After the death of George VI in 1952, rugby and hockey fixtures were called off, while football matches went ahead.

I'd also add that there are 2 WT races in the Commonwealth coming up

How very British to put half of everyday life on hold following the Queen's death, for ten days no less.
Britain is really, really attached to their monarch, I think more than most other monarchies. I think if they want to stop the race, they should, but the end would be too early to give out UCI points for me. I‘m not the person who can say much about this, though.

Well some are. She is the longest ruling adult monarch ever like.

In my opinion, is appropriate to have some kind of period of mourning with such a historically significant moment and changing of the guard
But it's a shame to totally cancel things that bring people joy for a long period of time.

UK often experiences tragedies in which many people day in much worse circumstances than this, genuine tragedies, and there is no such postponements, life just goes on. Strange here to react in such a strong manner if they put 10 days with no sports and other activities.

Not to say that this is not sad

Have to say sad that the Queen died and all that but the idea that in the UK everyone's life has to stop for 10 days is outdated and way over the top.

I'm actually off to France for a week on Monday and will be glad to escape from it all. It'll be an orgy of the kind of nostalgia that is gradually killing my country.

Rest of the race is now cancelled, according to Ned Boulting this is as the enormous reorganisation of police resources means the race would no longer be able to secure the race route.

The GC is now frozen and the race is considered completed as a five stage race won by Gonzalo Serrano.

Queen now single handedly deciding the relegation battle

(not that Serrano's points really matter, Movistar is saved if Mas secures his 2nd place anyways)

In all seriousness, if it is indeed because of lack of police cause they need to go to London it's the only correct decision. It sucks but if you can't guarantee the safety of riders and spectators there is no race, it's that simple.

Cycling cancelled, think the footy will be next, whispers it's only the premiership games though so fingers crossed, tough game for North End at the weekend as well

Its absolutely stupid the hysteria that the whole country has to stop having fun.If the police excuse is valid then why are all comedy shows cancelled.

Gotta be cancelled sadly. The nation is entering not just entering a period, but a contest in who can mourn the loudest & greatest (Elton John was the last winner). Anyone deemed to mourn insufficiently will be cancelled by the massed forces of the anti-woki brigade. I wouldn't be surprised if the organisers released photos of riders crying in the rain in a desperate attempt to prove their patriotism.
