the 3s rule is only used for the peloton, in a situation like this (page 5, example 2).
The jersey must go to Perry
I guess there will be a protest then.

I thought that he did, yes. But regardless of whether one of them got the jersey or not, they rode that stage horribly. They should have just taken pulls and gotten as much time as possible for the GC. They should never have let the peloton come this close and if Perry ended up not getting the jersey, I must say that I'm speechless.
Richardson started cycling at 25 and racing at 26, maybe that has something to do with itI obviously hope it isn't the case, but Richardson rode like he hurt his brain in that machete attack.
Bonneu rode the final 12 km much smarter.
From 0 to 7 seconds difference lol. Big mistake from the organization, atleast they fixed it.

interesting post stage interview on the ITV highlights, Richardson was saying there was an agreement between the riders in the breakaway that 2 of them would sit up after 116km, which was after the last sprint before the finish, when that didnt happen, that was when he chose not to contribute to help the breakaway anymore, his attacks after 10km to go were to get away, but he no longer cared if the breakaway was going to get caught or not anymore by doing that.
to which Pippa asked "why not ?" and Richardson replied because he'd kept his word. and all of what he was doing was being agreed by the team car.
so I dont think he was riding as out of sorts as it appeared. be interesting to hear what Neds podcast made of it.
and Ben Perry is now in the leaders jersey after the commissaires amended the race results following the gap calculation rules, just a shame he didnt get the podium ceremony part to go with it.

...but going by the Ben Perry interview in the British Continental podcast (on from ~11 minutes), this really seems to be what happened

I already know you didn't watch the stage.Pidcock as usual overrated
Stages 6 and 8 might do some damage but with three bonification sprints every day, there absolutely is a strong chance of those being decisive. To me it looks like the last 3 stages are quite easy and it will be hard to make gaps? So bonification will decide this race?
He spent half the stage on the attack and would still have won had he not drifted to last wheel. Legs were not his problem today.Pidcock as usual overrated
Legs are not the only thing that make a cyclist. Bad decision making againStages 6 and 8 might do some damage but with three bonification sprints every day, there absolutely is a strong chance of those being decisive.
