Don't you guys see your own double standards?
The moment there is a vague rumour that a significant development by or against [fill in your own tasty dish] the Clinic threads are abuzz with speculation "what it means". Heck, most of the Clinic is speculation about what something means before actual events have played out, and usually based on 2nd hand accounts.
I didn't hear anyone demanding that the 1000+ post about rumours about articles in SI, and what it all meant, were yanked from the site, and we should all just wait until that article was actually published.
When the rumours were that it was delayed, we had another round of speculative threads.
We now one OP who is zooming in on something surreal [Grey Manrod and the this Honey Badger day] that is either driven by Floyd, or appears embraced by Floyd.
Speculation if Floyd is indeed stepping firmly back into the ring, and if a ToC day has been circled on the Floyd's calendar, that is certainly worthy of a thread, by all Clinic standards.
Since each and every one who has questioned this now, had no problems then, nor with any of the other countless examples I could dig up, I can't see a single reason why this thread suddenly should be closed.
We'll see what happens, or not. That OP Floyd bit could have been written by anyone. The (main) Floyd part is on topic, appropriate, and in the right part of the site. Some of you appear so annoyed with some members here that you are starting to lose perspective a bit.
That, or I expect all complainers to protest about all pre-emptive speculation threads here in the Clinic.
Grey Manrod and the Badgers (great name for a band) are already a surreal part of the show, long before Polish added his take. Sit back and enjoy the ride, or just skip this thread.
[The afterthought bit about the race itself is non-Clinic and can be discussed elsewhere, and I will remove that]
