Tour of Denmark 2019

The 29th edition of the Tour of Denmark (PostNord Danmark Rundt) will start off in Silkeborg, Jutland, on the 21st of August 2019. There are five stages, including an individual time trial which this time takes place early on in the race (stage 2). As usual, the stage race will end in Copenhagen.

Here are the stages:

Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4, Stage 5.

(I don't think there is an English version of the stage descriptions.)

I foresee a topic with little interest, just like the one for the Tour of Austria.

Van Aert won last year, rather easily. Obviously he won't be competing this year (he wasn't going to regardless of his injury).

Stage profiles (well, 3 out of 5) are on https://firstcycling.com/race.php?r=32&y=2019&k=stages

But I think it's better to have a separate thread about the race than to use the dull "lesser known stage races" thread.

Of course, if somebody can't watch the race on TV, it's difficult for the person to have an opinion about it.

It's a 2.HC race so it's rated equal to for example Tour of Yorkshire.

I absolutely hate the "lesser known races" thread. Such a mess to search through, so I applaud that Danmark Rundt gets a thread. Obviously, you could have waited to start the thread till the race is relevant.
Agreed, people just name drop a rider and a time gap and you are mean to know what’s happening.

Uhm… I try to remember mentioning the race.

As for the Tour of Denmark; I'm just angry they're skipping Århus for the second year in a row!

Well, you don't have to travel that far if you want to watch in either Silkeborg or Vejle...

The "problem" is normally Funen. There is a public outcry everytime Funen is not included.

Still bit far to ride my bike, I'm a cheapskate with a terrible sense of direction.

Wait, it's a month away? I keep forgetting the race doesn't go on at the end of the Tour and back into the San Sebastián/Poland/Burgos/Portugal block anymore.

To be honest, I did too. :) But the organizers have just revealed the exact routes of each stage, I think they look a little more interesting than usual (among others things because the TT has been moved forward and stage 4 has a hilly finish).

Haha fair enough opening the thread, then :D

Only one week earlier than last year though! :)
