I wonder if tomorrows stage could get interesting. It's not like Lotto has the strongest team to control and that steep climb looks hard enough to do something on. Its maybe a bit too far from the finish but Decathlon and UAE have a lot of riders close in GC. Last year this stage was just a reduced bunch sprint but it was also before the Nongla stage so no one really tried.

I look at profiles and fantasize some gc rider is going to attack on that last climb 19km from the end.
But it almost never happens.

Lenny VE thought it was curtains when Wellens tried to do a Pogi, but paced himself to the win.

"I didn’t feel very good at first today. But when the team wants to work for you, you can’t complain, and you just have to give it everything you’ve got," Lennert Van Eetvelt said after the race. And that’s exactly what he did. Today’s stage in the Tour of Guangxi featured the first mountain stage, between Yizhou and Nongla. The stage was marked by an early breakaway of four riders, but thanks to the efforts of teams like Lotto Dstny, the gap gradually shrank as they approached the final climb. "When Tim Wellens attacked, I thought today wasn’t going to be my day. But the last kilometer is so tough (the final 1.2 kilometers have an average gradient of 14.8%, ed.), and I know how to keep my own pace on such sections, so I just kept going."

One more stage to go later today/tonight/whatever, but in the meantime the current GC standings:

Should be a fun battle for the top spot, can Lenny V.E. hold on? Onley is nipping at his heels, but the other riders aren't too far behind either!

I've been trying to find some news and Ineos' Facebook says it was the second day in a row Narvaez had crashed and he had some knocks to his knee.
Probably as important, the team he is transferring to are probably sick w worry!!

Only watched @50 k of today's stage, the race route was outstanding some of the landmarks were great and the finish was really well planned, the climb was great!!

Was the final KOM point before the actual finish line? Both the UCI website and PCS are showing Wellens as getting the 20 KOM points for the final Cat 1.

Exciting last stage. Pretty problematic situation for Van Eetvelt. His team had to burry themselves early behind Wellens and now he's completely alone in 30 man elite group. Almost impossible to control

EDIT: some help from Visma now as they are controlling for Van Dijke and don't want a bigger group to come back. Marijn Van den Berg also there, but isolated. If he had a better team here he always wins this stage imo.

Looks like we'll be getting a sprint with 35ish guys. Onley needs a 2nd place to take GC, will be hard with at least 2 significantly faster guys in the group.

Well that was chaotic with 2nd group coming back within the last km. 1 and 2 for Bahrain I think

The WorldTour season finished as it started*; with a ProTeam rider winning the GC.

*Yes, I know the WorldTour season started with stage one of the TDU.

Welsford winning three stages at the TDU really did not set the tone for his season...
