Tejay has stated he'll try grabbing the top spot on GC, so I think there should be some good action. I think Tejay has a legitimate chance of winning the over all.

One can wonder how good riding in 40 ?C temperatures is for riders like Cancellara and Boonen who are going to race in <10?C conditions very soon.

I really want Sagan to take this because I'm feeling bad for him. Boasson Hagen and Van Rensburg should be able to give MTN top-10's.

i remember him attacking in tdf 2010 with sastre on pailheres. i guess?!
Even dropping Sastre if I remember correctly! I'm really happy for him, one of my favourites riders, but this was completely unexpected. I really thought he had won from a breakaway.... Hopefully this is a breakthrough win for him and he can grow from here :)

Very well for Valls, he use to be strong at this part of the season and he was always promising, but he has been quite unlucky.

Anyway he is not Rui Costa, and he will have to work in next races.

Watching Van Garderen has improved his time last year I think the wind condition has been better this year, last year was hard. It is an open climb and wind is an important factor despite the big slope.

He also attacked in Station des Rousses, but he couldn't catch Chavanel and finished second in the stage.

Lol, he probably thought he would go faster uphill if he saved some weight on the brain part. :eek:

@Dazed and Confused

Difficult to work out what organisers are doing here,do you think its still a lumpy stage or just a sprint with these changes?

They will do the interesting part as per original I think.
It will create the same race action imo.

Hopeless organisation and dissemination of information to the public ... Typical of vile Omani dictatorship.
