but Syritsa already was promoted from 4th in the stage to 2nd on the podium. What to do now?New rule: If third place is taller than you on the podium, then they get 1st
Lefevre was right then. Say what you will, but he still knows his stuff.'Sprinter' Lamperti casually coming second on a 2.7k at 6.7% HTF... insane stuff.

Because of the bad weather, tomorrow's stage of the Tour of Omen has been shortened to 76km:
Due to the exceptional weather conditions and to ensure the safety of the riders, the Royal Oman Police, Oman Cycling Association and all relevant Omani authorities have worked in collaboration with the commissaires panel of the Union Cycliste Internationale, the representatives of the teams and riders (A.I.G.C.P, C.P.A) and the organisation of the event (A.S.O.) have decided to modify stage 3, Bid Bid - Eastern Mountain, and to propose another shorter and safer stage: Naseem Garden - Al Bustan (76 kilometres).
The stage will start from Naseem Garden at 10 AM GST and finish in Al Bustan at 12:00 PM GST.
It was supposed to finish on the steep climb Jorgenson won on last year, but Al Bustan is at the ocean, so I guess it'll be some kind of sprint.
yeah, but still as "Eastern Mountain", which is 100 km away from Al Bustan. And Al Hamra (final sprint on PCS) is somewhere completely different So this also can't be quite correct.PCS seems to think it's still the uphill finish on their preview of the live.

edit: but the Al Bustan stages in the past always used to have a little climb close to the finish. Maybe they will take that one instead.
yeah, thought so too before I realized it's 500m at 8% average instead. But even that is probably a tad too much for Coquard or Lamperti to win.I was legit thinking that the distance in metres at the end there was the altitude for a minute, and was looking blankly at a relief map going "where the hell is there a road at 533m altitude near Al-Bustan?"
Lamperti can do it. He is Ewan for rich peopleyeah, thought so too before I realized it's 500m at 8% average instead. But even that is probably a tad too much for Coquard or Lamperti to win.
533m 8.2% on average, there will be pieces of 10%+. this will be too hard for Lamperti as Yates and Ulissi lead out for Fisher Black with his formLamperti can do it. He is Ewan for rich people
Disagree, Coquard has won on this kind of hill before (the Rousson stage in Bessèges 2022 comes to mind) and Lamperti was second today on a climb that was 3-4 times harder. An in-form Ewan is also capable here. There also just aren’t that many good punchers at this race - yes, there’s Fisher-Black, but I think this doesn’t suit him as much as today’s stage did - and barring him, who would you be looking at here? Busatto, Capiot, Adriá, Ulissi, Schelling… all of them would be more surprising, IMO.yeah, thought so too before I realized it's 500m at 8% average instead.
