Well well well....

Gesink's been hard at work. Oh how the 'Gesink cant TT' people will eat their words.
I'm laughing so hard right now

I come home, see that Gesink won the ITT. And instantly want to laugh at all those people's faces. :p

Told you,. 2010 was just an anomalie.

It is his first real result in the tt.
No it isn't.

How many times do you want me to post his ITT results, he top 5 and top 10th plenty times before in this type of time trial...jeesj.

People here act just as suprised as when Valverde won his first hilly time trial.

I don't think it was an anomaly in 2010... I think Gesink just neglected training his TT, and focused on his climbing and explosiveness. Those aspects of his game improved the last two years, but his TTing stagnated/declined. This offseason he put some time into training on the TT bike, spent some time in the windtunel, and voila.... Instant improvement. Its not that hard to figure out. I think when we get the video evidence of the TT today we'll see a serious improvement of his formerly lousy TT position.

To the people saying Gesink's season is effectively finished:

Nibali went all the way to Argentina last season and went all out to win the Tour of San Luis last year. He ended up doing rather well across the season I thought.
This

Plus, Gesink is always in almost the same shape the entire season

No I was playing football with my friends. Obviously I can't do that sport so I screwed up my knees, my ankles and my back

But hey at least I didn't have to go through the 'anxiously waiting for results' stage :p

Will apparently be some wind tomorrow, although not very much. Sky might try to split it up in the crosswinds, so there's still a possibility of Gesink screwing up!

Meh, I see little chance with full support of the Rabobank team. They seem to be in form, all of them, too.
Besides, they tried to get rid of Gesink in the wind in the mountain stage too. That didn't work out to well :D

If it was Thomas "I like to hang out the back of the peloton" Dekker, I gave them a good chance of succeeding. But not mr Robert "I always want to ride at the first 10" Gesink

Apparently Pinotti got caught out in the split yesterday, otherwise he could have finished high up on GC.

Who do we fancy for the win tomorrow? I imagine Cav will want to win the stage so HTC will probably go all out for him. Will he get it or will Theo boss the sprint again?

Yeah... We certainly haven't forgotten the 2009 Tour de France, haven't we?

But that said, Rabo will not screw up. They'll be riding on the front from KM 0. No way they'll be that stupid.

Would fall from my chair if they would be caught by the wind to be fair.

If Theo Boss wins again this race could as well be named the Tour of Rabobank. Allthough I'd love to see him win again I expect someone else to win. It would be great for Cav to win one, but somehow I don't think he will. Allthough with a good leadout he's unbeatable.
My hopes are up for Bennati, he really deserves a win.

Nice to see. I wish I could rely on Eurosports schedule so I would actually watch it on the tele, but usually when I sit down at the time cycling starts something different is still going on.
It's on Eurosport 2 every morning after the race at 09.30. The schedule is completely messed up as far as that goes.

I guess they will be flying all the hookers in for Team Rabobank from Amsterdam to Oman!:D

EDIT: Meyer actually said before Gesink's ride that the tt suited him far more. I will say he is a reasonable time triallist but he hasn't really convinced me.

What's your obsession with pointing out that Amsterdam has hookers? You think Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane don't have hookers?

Meyer said that the TT suited him more than Gesink?

Yes but Amsterdam is the Hookers capital!

No, he said that it was suited to Gesink more then EBH or Cancellara because it was such a tough course with the climbs.

Thats not actually such a bad thing. In the Netherlands disabled people can apply to get money from the state to be spent on prostitutes.

What a brilliant idea.

I know that has absolutely nothing to do with The tour of Oman but anything to change the subject from a Gesink victory will do ;)
