He's not very good at this kind of racing and I think it's the first time he's riding Qatar.

It seems to me exactly like the Kittel of the last two years. How often has he made it into a select front group of 20-30 riders?

Sagan is never very good in his first race of the season. In 2012 he was beaten by Adam Blythe in a sprint...

I think he'll be fine. He'd probably have won three stages in the Tour of Dubai the way they wer raced. Tour of Qatar is completely different - look at the lead group today; it is like what you'd see in Paris Roubaix or Flanders.

TT is only 10km though - so the gaps will only be small. Some of the sprinters (Boonen / Sagan / Kristoff) could make up any difference lost on the TT in time bonuses.

Amazingly, you can still get odds of about 12/1 on him winning Milan-San Remo again this year. He should be the strong favourite imo.

I am quite happy with Sagan loosing the sprints here. Let them think you do not have it anymore and wait for M-SR. I am sure Riis knows how to make him winning big ones.
