That was an awesome move by Katusha. Great racing.

Btw, I think it was Stuyven who was the first to bridge across (together with Van Avermaet) before the rest of the peloton rejoined as well. True beast this kid.

Love the Katusha lead-out man (Marco Haller, I think) who celebrate the win with 100m to go. :D

I believe it maybe wasn't Haller, but the current U-23 WC, Sven Erik Bystr?m, who signed with Katusha last year. He ended up 19th, with Haller and Paolini at 30 and 31.

(Sorry, saw the footage now. It was indeed Haller.)

It's not gonna be windy enough to cause echelons in today's stage... But Kristoff will chase after the intermediate points and I dont see Terpstra or Boonen challenging him if the pack stays together...Terpstra will be hoping Kittel or Sagan will do him some favors at the finish

P.S Demare has won 2 stages at the Doha Corniche will he make it a 3rd??

Suggestions wind will pick up later ... fingers crossed.

4 man break; Preben van Hecke, Marcus Burghardt, Nicola Boem and Stefano Pirazzi.

No indication from the twitter feed as to if Katusha are chasing....

Results of the first intermediate sprint (km 73.5): 1. Tom Boonen 2. Alexander Kristoff 3. Matteo Trentin

Smells like the overall will go to Kristoff.
Do I remember correctly that stage winner gets 10 seconds?
If this is the case, he needs to win the stage, right?

By my calculations he now needs to win the stage or win the next intermediate and come second in the stage.

Should be do able but Kittel and Etixx will make it tough.

EDIT: assuming no bonuses for Terpstra

Terpstra cannot come top 3 on a crit stage like this. He will have to rely on Boonen or Trentin amongst his teammates to outsprint Kristoff.

However much better for Terpstra is the fact that this stage suits the pure sprinters, Kittel, Guardini, Ruffoni, so there are several people who can beat Kristoff out of top spot on the stage and gift the GC to Terpstra.
