Does anyone know what the GC looks like now?

1. Tom Boonen (België/Quick Step) 3u02m32s
2. Mark Renshaw (Australië/HTC-Highroad) + 4s
3. Fabian Cancellara (Zwitserland/Leopard-Trek) + 8s
4. Juan Antonio Flecha (Spanje/Team Sky) + 9s
5. Heinrich Haussler (Australië/Garmin-Cervélo) + 11s

indeed.
on the negative for Mallorca there are no gc points rewarded (obviously).
but if farrar wins again today, that's an easy 160 for those whom have him.

@hugo, similar to stage results i would assume.

i think;
1. boonen
2. renshaw
3. canc
4. flecha
5. haussler

I don't think very many have him at all...

EDIT: After a quick scan it looks like only one person splurged the 1600 points that Farrar would've cost... Rocksteady picked him (probably he had to since his team is 80% North American)... Although I daresay Rocksteady forms little threat to the CQ Game GC, since he's got nearly 2800 of his purchases spread out over Chris Horner, Ryder Hesjedal and Svein Tuft, all of whom are likely to take a serious hit this year.

Steegmans is seventh in the GC by the way. 16 seconds back I think(you asked in another post, but I'm quoting this one).

---

And I knew Boonen was strong, so no surprise for me there :p

Just caught up with the recording. Seems everything around here now revolves around the CQ results!
1-2, like a lot of others.
Early days to start worrying about easy points in Mallorca.
I think we've found the glitch in the CQ scoring system, though.
That must have been really hard work for the front bunch today.
Pretty strong wind to bust up the race into pieces after just 5kms.
A 20 point win and only the first 4 score.
Swan around the Palma sea front for a couple of hours and get 80 points
with 20th home getting 5 points.

It does now look that this GC will be contested by that first group, unless we have a major breakaway, due to no race radios!;)

***k. I recorded the TOur of Qatar for today yesterday but it turns out that was just a repeat, and the live stage came afterwards. God damn it. I missed what looks like it was a decent stage.

Never planned on winning but glad some of my riders are making some points. (also Farrar could very well win the CQ if he can stay in the Tour this year. A bad day for Cav can be a win for Farrar) If I break even with American/Canucks, I'll be pretty happy. I got Rollin in the break today too... Good for him.

It wasn't that exciting. All the interesting stuff happened before the broadcast started. Except for Boonen's sprint which you can watch on Youtube.

What was Renshaw doing at the front with ~1k to go and then peeling off? Shouldn't he have been stuck to Boonen's wheel?

Thanks to TeamSkyFans for the video.

Cruel for Boom, he was in the first group and then dropped out because he literally had a ****-break

He would've lost the jersey anyway :p

And less cruel than Edvald Boasson Hagen at Oman last year.

I would not say that. He was already 2nd behind Renshaw in the 1st intermediate sprint. He might have just held on to the jersey.
But we'll never know.

Muhaha Hitch. I just watched the 2nd part... the live part of today ;)

Incredibly strong first group. Ofcourse I was dissapointed not to see Boom there or any other 'decent' Rabo, but after reading this thread it's dissapointing that Boom had an sh*tty situation which caused him to drop back. Also kinda amusing though!

Nice win by Boonen!

Tour of Qatar looks very interesting with these winds. Too bad that it's not of any interest for the local population.

Well, after a single stage there's only a handful of teams with a contender for the overall, which is a bit of a shock.

Sky's unconventional decision to go into a sprinter-dominated race with no sprinters has been fully vindicated.
