More hot racing this year. This year the racing comes a bit sooner, so it doesn't clash with so many other races like in previous years. Only the last stage is on the same day as the start of Dauphine. Pog has won this race a few times in the past, but this year he's doing the Dauphine after a long spring. But that just means the racing will be much more open and uncontrolled. Four WT teams this year as well.

Notable GC mentions: Juan Pedro Lopez, Geoghegan Hart, Plapp, Christen, Morgado, Covi, Bagioli, Carboni
Notable sprinters: Groenewegen, Molano, Bauhaus

Live coverage: Eurosport/GCN+ alternative will be covering the race.

Stage 1»Piran›Škofljica(170.6km)

Start: 11:45

Finish: 15:44 - 16:19

TV Live coverage: 13:30 - 16:00

This year, the 31st edition of the Tour of Slovenia will start on the Slovenian coast for the first time in a long time, specifically in the municipality of Piran. The first stage will take cyclists from Tartini Square, through Portorož, Koper, the Karst region, and then towards the central part of Slovenia, with the finish in Škofljica. The first part of the stage will be hilly, with one mountain sprint, while the second part will be flatter. A breakaway by a small group of cyclists is expected in the first part of the stage, and towards the end, the best teams in the race will likely set up their fastest riders for an advantageous position in the final sprint.

Stage 2»Velenje›Rogaška Slatina(162.7km)

Start: 10:55

Finish: 14:54 - 15:30

TV Live coverage: 13:00 - 15:15

Velenje will host the stage start for the first time. With the beautiful backdrop of Velenje Lake, the start of this stage will be a lovely event. The route of the second stage is extremely undulating and technically challenging. The competitors will face numerous smaller steep climbs, which could leave them with heavy legs towards the end of the stage. The cyclists will have bonus and prize sprints, mountain points, and the race will be lively. Several smaller breakaways or changes in the lead are expected before the final loop in Rogaška Slatina.

Stage 3»Majšperk›Ormož(172km)

Start: 10:50

Finish: 15:06 - 15:43

TV Live coverage: 13:00 - 15:15

Majšperk has previously been a partner of the Tour of Slovenia, but it has never been a stage start destination. Right after the neutral zone, two climbs await the cyclists, which are a great opportunity for a breakaway by a small group. The stage, which we've named the "Haloze loop," will be easy to control in the first part for the best teams in the race at that moment. The final part, however, is technically challenging and includes the Jeruzalem Hills, with the finish in Ormož for the third consecutive time.

Stage 4»Maribor›Golte(175km)

Start: 10:20

Finish: 14:39 - 15:20

TV Live coverage: 13:00 - 15:00

The fourth stage will start in Maribor, at the beautiful renovated Lent. The route takes cyclists through Slovenska Bistrica, Zreče, and on to Mozirje. From there, it continues towards Podvolovljek, Črnivec, followed by an extremely fast descent. After Rečica ob Savinji, the route heads mostly uphill, all the way to the Golte ski resort. The stage has more than 3,500 meters of elevation, making it the toughest stage of this year's race. There will likely be opportunities for breakaways in the first part of the stage, and the best cyclists in the race will need to take charge in the final part if they want to wear the green jersey the following day.

Stage 5 (Final)»Litija›Novo mesto(124.1km)

Start: 10:00

Finish: 12:46 - 13:10

Live coverage: 11:15 - 13:05

Litija, with a double ascent of GEOSS, will host the start of the final stage on Sunday. The first part of the stage will already be extremely challenging, followed by a flying sprint in Šmartno near Litija, another climb to Bogenšperk, a flying sprint in Mokronog, and a mountain sprint in Trebelno, before the final climb to the finish at Novo Mesto's Main Square, which will be Trška Gora. This will also be the shortest stage of this year's race. The route is demanding and technical, and the best riders will have to push for the win until the very last meters in Novo Mesto, with a tight finish expected for the overall winner.

Also, Visma LAB was supposed to race here, but withdrew.

While scheduled for the Tour of Slovenia, the Visma and Lease a Bike lineup announced that it would not eventually participate in the race. From 4 to 6 June, the Tour of Slovenia will take place, but it will therefore be without the Dutch team, which announced: 'Unfortunately, we will no longer participate in the Tour of Slovenia because of the number of injuries.'
