Nizzolo is training here for the Giro. He needs racedays after his injury in Sanremo.

I hope froome has a good week. Now no excuses with injury or lack of trainign
No excuses, but is not peaking here. He is just starting to get his level, it is a long process. I think he is showing a level to go to Romandie..and maybe as one of the leaders .on depends how this race finish and how he feel next week. If he is not at Romandie...very difficult to be at the Tour, except something by sorpresive. I don't know if he must be at le Tour...he should try to shine maybe in another races...but la Tour, with sun, it is the best race for his skills..but he prefers long stages and today mountain stages are short.

Fun fact: the first edition of a race that you could call Giro del Trentino happened 1 year before the first Giro d'Italia.

In 1908 the Federazione ciclistica del Trentino (the local federation inside the Austro-Hungarian empire) organized the Giro dei confini ciclistici del Trentino. The motivation behind it was a political one, it was a political statement to defend the region's right to exist against the German speaking nationalists who insisted that all of the Trentino had once been German, only got "italianized" later on and should be "re-germanized". It has to be said that only 7 riders finished the race...

Maybe the fact that Hagen bridged the gap so quickly, suggests they weren't working that effectively :confused_old:

Expecting the peloton to split on the descent and the front part to either catch or come close to Sivakov and Storer considering their descending skills.
