Tour of the Alps 2023 (April 17-21)

They are climbing this road today on the final climb. As you can see it's so narrow that 2 cars won't fit. You have to be super careful if you're going downhill on that side. Last time I did it was after climbing Oberbozen via Sankt Magdalena on the old road, the one with 1km at 20-21% right at the start.

We'll see, the final climb is rather irregular with ramps up to 15% and if the go full gas behind they can still catch them.

Less than 2 minutes with still about 10k of climbing to go, it will be difficult.

yeah, sure, but Carr didn't lose much yesterday, so he seems to be in pretty good shape.

I timed 1:12 at the KOM, if the GC riders come out to play on the next climb it's unlikely for Carr to survive.

Carr somehow lost 40 seconds in 2 kilometres of descending, it's over for him.

Meh, expected more from this stage, still a large group, Ineos love strangling these races.
At least the final sprint will be entertainingly messy if it stays like this.

It's not just Ineos doing the train here, nobody else has shown any sort of interest in doing anything, so they'll all be an additional 10 seconds down after today when Hart wins the sprint from this group.

And that's why you don't take Hart to the sprint, much less with him in perfect position when you can't really come around on this finish. Only Gall tried to stop it and he lost himself in the process.

Looked like Gall started pedaling too early and his wheel just slipped. Not an ideal final, but IMO that was a mistake by the rider.
