he'd definitely need to gain time on the descent, but it looks more like one which favours the peloton as well

Meh, expected more from this stage, still a large group, Ineos love strangling these races.
At least the final sprint will be entertainingly messy if it stays like this.

It's not just Ineos doing the train here, nobody else has shown any sort of interest in doing anything, so they'll all be an additional 10 seconds down after today when Hart wins the sprint from this group.

And that's why you don't take Hart to the sprint, much less with him in perfect position when you can't really come around on this finish. Only Gall tried to stop it and he lost himself in the process.
