Van Avermaet is still a sprinter and Santambrogio is a climber? Wow, that's pretty optimistic.

Ya, I would rather characterise Van Avermaet as a rider that can sprint rather than being a sprinter. He's not really going to ride a program where his job will be to win sprints but if there's no one else there then he will of course sprint.

When I said sprinter that doesn't mean that i am saying that they are pure sprinters like you would classify Cavendish as. Santambrogio is a decent climber as well. He did the giro and tdf this year under done in both because of team suspension and form. He is quite good.

Santambrogio is a very useful climber. He won Tre Valli Varesine last which is quite a mountainess race. He also rode strongly up Terminillo this year. Admittedly it did not have the most cracking pace but he was sick and he still hung in there for most of the way. To say he's a climber is a valid comment.

Hello
Have you any transfer rumours about:
E.Battaglin
B.Markus
A.Nechita
J.Stuyven ?

Battaglin has signed for Colnago (according to Cyclingfever), Barry Markus continues with Rabobank Continental and Stuyven is probably going to ride for one of the Belgian Continental teams (Jong Vlaanderen maybe?) - Nechita I don't know.

Still "just" a rumour, but let's see if it's announced in the next couple of days:

Not correct. Battaglin stays with Zalf; Stuyven is going to PWS-Eijssen, which is renamed to Ovyta in 2011.

Stalder and Stewart are also leaving or retiring.

So DAOTEC from what you have said this means BMC's final lineup will be:

EIJSSEN Yannick
MOINARD Amaël
PHINNEY Taylor
QUINZIATO Manuel
ROE Timothy
SANTAROMITA Ivan
TSCHOPP Johann
VAN AVERMAET Greg

BALLAN Alessandro
BARTON Chris
BEYER Chad
BOOKWALTER Brent
BURGHARDT Marcus
BUTLER Christopher
EVANS Cadel
FRANK Mathias
HINCAPIE George
HOUSE Cole
KOHLER Martin
KRISTOFF Alexander
KROON Karsten
LOUDER Jeff
MORABITO Steve
MURPHY John
SANTAMBROGIO Mauro
SCHÄR Michael
WYSS Danilo
ZAHNER Simon

Can be counted as a neo-pro for roster purposes
New comers (not neo pros)

24 Pros
4 neo pros
= 28 riders in total.
No, Cole House is not a neo for roster purposes. Barton and Butler however do count for that. Remember that the UCI uses a definition different from the common definition.

Thanks for the correction. I haven't read about the Battaglin/Colnago connection anywhere else actually, but kinda hoped it was true:)

Just a rumour, based on the fact that he once dropped a line about possibly riding the classics at some point in his career.

Which means a full roster, so unless they release someone, no further signings.

So how many riders leaving/going to DS is that? Vigano, Calzati, Portal. Anyone else?

Only those neos count who are u23 at the time their contract begins. They are neo for 2 years (or more exactly: for their entire minimum length of a neo contract). On January 1st 2011 Cole House is not a u23 rider anymore. Barton and Butler however were u23 at the time they got a contract with BMC and therefore are neo until the end of 2011.

Wiggins, EBH, Geraint Thomas, Rogers, Henderson and more...sounds like a pretty decent TTT team at least, that's for sure!

I'm guessing their main reason for signing Rogers is for the 1 week races, where Sky were quite bad this season. As for the GTs, he's pretty much exactly the same kind of rider as Wiggins...

Brilliant auscyclefan94... Susan please provide a link next time :)

Dont encourage him.

As for michael rogers this probably means Sky ride the tour of California.. Still, a good signing, his ride at M-S-R he looked super strong on the Poggio and he should be proud of how well he rode in the spring of this year.
