he never was a sprinter either. he just won the points jersey in vuelta but he's always been a hilly guy, also in u23.

As for michael rogers this probably means Sky ride the tour of California.. Still, a good signing, his ride at M-S-R he looked super strong on the Poggio and he should be proud of how well he rode in the spring of this year.
Mellow Velo said:Uuummm, I don't know about that, since it's staying as HC, not PT, for another year. This means more US teams and fewer Euro squads. Sky have little interest in California.
Meanwhile, Thomas L has already stated that the Giro is a season's goal.
My guess is that the TOC will be minus it's defending champion.

On January 1st 2011 Cole House is not a u23 rider anymore. Barton and Butler however were u23 at the time they got a contract with BMC and therefore are neo until the end of 2011.
That is correct.Sneekes said:Does this mean that Peter Kennaugh is still a neo-pro for 2011? He's only 21 - and he must have signed at least a 2yr contract this time last year.

This would then mean that Team Sky - with a roster size of 29 of which 2 are neo-pros - would have room for another rider.

I'm guessing their main reason for signing Rogers is for the 1 week races, where Sky were quite bad this season. As for the GTs, he's pretty much exactly the same kind of rider as Wiggins...

Why Fabian Cancellara prefers the Schleck brothers“I have had big moments with Bjarne Riis and Team Saxo Bank, and that is one of the reasons why I would like to stay with the group of people that made it happen” says Cancellara, referring to sports director Kim Andersen, with whom he has had a close collaboration, as well as the riders Fränk and Andy Schleck, Jakob Fuglsang, Stuart O’Grady, Jens Voigt and Dominik Klemme.
Reverend_T_Preedy said:Team Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta have officially disbanded. Quote from the team
'Regrettably the team in its’ current format won’t be racing in 2011. As a result of several riders choosing to concentrate on the Olympics or sign for other teams, the decision was taken to disband the existing team with immediate effect whilst other team options for next year are explored'
Shame really.
The Tour Series-winning team will keenly feel the loss of Olympic hopefuls Tennant and Clancy, who have gone to Rapha-Condor-Sharp.
"It was sudden, and obviously a massive hiccup; you don't take Olympic
stars leaving lightly," said team manager Keith Lambert. "But onwards
and upwards, we're trying to get reorganised and move on."
It is expected that the likes of Ian Bibby, Jonny McEvoy, Malcolm Elliott, Steven Burke will all ride in the team's distinctive orange-and-black colours in 2011.

Rabo seems the perfect team then, no?Machu Picchu said:He's interested in some races, he mentioned Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders but he wants a team that will allow him to ride cross races in winter and he also mentioned competing in mountain biking at the 2012 Olympics.
In short, he's looking for something new.
