Team Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta have officially disbanded. Quote from the team

'Regrettably the team in its’ current format won’t be racing in 2011. As a result of several riders choosing to concentrate on the Olympics or sign for other teams, the decision was taken to disband the existing team with immediate effect whilst other team options for next year are explored'

Shame really.

well thanks for the memory MALCOLM ELLIOT. you do a fellow 40+ mamil proud

According to CQ, Fumy Beppu looks like he is leaving Radio Shack. Perhaps it wasn't the best of moves to burn your bridges with Skil-Shimano now was it?

What type of calculations are those? Squad size? Budget?

So who are riders 29 and 30?

They currently have 28 riders of which only 1 is a neo-pro, that therefore gives them a maximum squad size of 29. THey have room to hire and announce one more rider, plus if they wish one further neo-pro. On that basis I can only conclude that I dont think Rogers has yet signed. If so that would mean there roster is complete which according to reports it is not. From what I can gather Sky are still in the market for riders. Unless of course Sky are yet to release rider(s) to make additional rosta space

If Rogers has signed, then the squad is now full with the exception of one further neo-pro, or riders to replace any further riders that they may release. If the squad is full I see no reason why they wont release it as a final squad.

Juan Jose Cobo having talks with Team Type 1, according to biciclismo.

I swear CQ had him down as going to Saur-Sojasun cause i remember thinking that is a good signing for them. What ever happened to that??

If that does come to fruition Team Type 1 riding the Giro is not as far-fetched as we first thought esp with Efimkin too.

It never happened. Saur-Sojasun is a 100% French team. Therefore, they will not sign any Spaniard, where Cobo is one of the least likely Spaniards to sign for a French team.

Cobo is also supposed to have gone to GEOX and reunited with Gianetti.

The Caisse d'Epargner who was meant to have signed with Saur was either Matthieu Drujon or Arnaud Coyot.

If it's Coyot, then that makes sense that it's simply next-to-each-other-in-the-alphabet, so either CQ has made a typo and mixed them up, or you have done the same.

Van Avermaet is still a sprinter and Santambrogio is a climber? Wow, that's pretty optimistic.
