Indeed, Engels is gone from QS, frees up a place for Cav. But is there a place anywhere for Engels? Or is he forced to retire? Maybe Skil/1t4i?

Sohrabi

So whats going on with M.Sohrabi? first he was going to Ag2R and now he is on Geox? I'm not sure if I missed something, I'm just confused with what is happening.

Lotto-Ridley perhaps? If not, I'm sure there can be a spot for him at one of the smaller Belgian teams.

How could you leave out Gadret from their Giro success? I'll agree with you when it comes to the Vuelta, I'd give Europcar or FDJ a ride over AG2R.

Because i said he would ride the Tour. When i say Frances number 1 gt contender im not talking about Pierre Rolland.

Yep.

The Tour was on the news more in the UK than Cavs WC win! A lot of people only think cycling exists in July.

I would even put ASchleck was well know. I know a few lads in the office know of him and they dont follow cycling.

Wait a minute, the Tour was on the news in the UK????

Now that Leipheimer is doing also a Specialized Tribute Dance, me thinks this was a plot by them & Cav for some time. But what about Eisel, has he already signed his Sky contract?

Eisel said two weeks ago, that he has already signed a contract but is still not allowed to announce his new team.
I can't imagine, that Börnie will ride for QS. ;)

and all HTC OPQS riders have said getting away from the HTC train will be good for their careers - so 6 riders will not be happy

although seeing Bottle stretching out the Peloton with 20 km to go would be fun. :D

Didn't once Tom Boonen say he wasn't too fond of Cavendish? How is it going to work out if they ride in the same team?

I honestly have never heard Tom Boonen saying he's fond of somebody either, especially if this somebody may be his team's co-leader

Could also be. But he's Dutch and just a pro doing his job; as he is getting older, he might want to go back to the Netherlands to settle there. I don't know where he lives at the moment (possibly Belgium, as taxes there are lower than in the Netherlands). Before QS, he raced for Dutch teams also, Rabobank and the Bankgiroloterij. As the latter merged with the Japanese team Shimano to form Skil-Shimano, he has links to Skil (and thus 1t4i). Skil is investing in a bunch of very talented, young riders, maybe they'll want some experience as well (and he's a good helper).

Oh this will be so funny. I'm also sort of hoping that Cav will go to Sky so he will make Henao and Urán so lead out and just this place go into meltdown. Given that Ryo didn't like it when Urán had to wait for Wiggins when he crashed out of the TDF, I don't think he will like it for one second seeing Henao and Urán doing lead-out, which will also be funny.

People hate Cav, how? :D

I'm going to grilled for this, but is there really much difference being Dutch or Belgian and racing for a team from either country?

not sure why but my transfer related posts were moved to the popularity thread. anyway i restored them to thier former glory

regarding french gc men

they all have some sort of contender.
Rolland and Gadret.. Personally I see more talent in rolland. I was waiting for him to deliver for a long time.

But Pinot in a couple of years will be France's best hope, this I am sure of.

mmm really? I have doubts.

He has one more year on his contract, and I'd be surprised if rabo let him go that easy.

He hasn't had much impact so far, but a couple years ago, before he got the 'rabo flu' he was tearing up the espoirs.

I didn't expect much this year, but he also had some bad luck this year, breaking both his wrist on the start ramp in zeeland.

What type of rider is Posthuma? Mainly Classics??
has a good itt. if not a little inconsistent.

He is a good domestique in general. I've seen him climb ok, doing domestique duties earlier in the day.

He is pretty strong on the cobbles, again suitable for a good domestique on this terrain also.

@craig

I am not sure how el pickle will recover from that one

With regards to QuickStep, they have 8 riders who I can see have definitely re-signed, and 11 who have transferred in.

The 8 are: Boonen, De Weert, Devenyns, Van Keirsbulck (neo-pro), Vandewalle, Vermote, Chavanel and Stybar.
Also, Pineau has a one-year option he can renew.
The 11 in are: Velits + Velits, Vandenbergh, Kwiatowski (neo-pro), Golas, Martin, Rabon, Grabsch, Fenn (neo-pro), Trentin (neo-pro) and Leipheimer.
=20

Robert and Tratnik have contracts until the end of next year but apparently they are being broken early.

Don't know the details of Capelle, Maes, Kunitski or Steegmans' contracts.
=24 possibly

They have 9 riders who come to the end of their contracts this year: Keisse, Van Impe, Bandiera, Cataldo, Chicchi, Reda, Ciolek, Stauff and Terpstra.

Seeldraeyers, De Maar, Engels and Malacarne are definitely leaving.

They have one neo-pro so that means their team can have 29 riders next year. That's right isn't it?
Anyone know about the contract situations of Capelle, Maes, Kunitski or Steegmans?

Both Trentin and Keirsbulck are neos in 2012. And Fenn and Kwiatkowksi. Maybe I forgot one...

Oh yeah you have neo-pro status for 2 years don't you. Forgot that, didn't know about Fenn either. So they can have 30 riders.
