Apparently Heinrich Haussler is not in fact dead but still able to win races. Anyone know if he's sticking with Garmin or moving on next year?

Don't take this for fact or anything, but from what I understand Haussler has ambitions/plans on having his own team, at what level they will race at I have no idea. What I do know is that he does back, or lends his name to a junior racing team and they do use Cervèlo.

Yeah the Racing Kangaroos, run out of Inverell where he used to live. He got them all their sponsors including bikes and wheels. I think they were talking about starting a national series team

Thor Hushovd has a similar thing in Norway: Plussbank - Cervélo.
They're even Continental.
I'm waiting to see if it'll be Plussbank - BMC next year...

Rafael Reis signs with Caja Rural (amateur team) LINK-> I can't get the link to work, but it is on Biciclismo.

He had a good junior campaign. 2010 results include: 1st GC Volta a Loulé (a tough competition in the category), 1st national championships ITT and RR, 6th world championships ITT and 7th on the road race, 9th on the paris-roubaix junior.

This was his first year as an U23. His 7th at Volta ao Alentejo was the highlight of the season.

He's a good climber. Also a good time trialist. You would often see him win on the line by himself after powering away from the peloton. It's still early, but I'm curious about how he will develop.

After all the hype from Libertine about Reis he will for sure be interesting to follow.

I don't know how the U23 spanish calendar unfolds. But the thruth is in Portugal the chances for him to develop aren't the best. The racing doesn't offer great opportunities for someone with his abilities. If your a sprinter (specially one that can get over hills) you're good. If you want to challenge your climbing, you're doomed. (If this is true as an elite, it is much more valid as an espoir). I was also very surprised with his Paris-Roubaix result. Would love to see more of him on that type of terrain.

anyone know where mr G4 Geoffroy Lequatre is going ?

There was an interview with him on cyclism'actu a while ago (it's also somewhere in the Leopard-Radioshack thread) where he said he knew early on that his contract wouldn't be renewed, so he had a lot of time to look for a new team. I guess he hadn't found anything by then yet though and he also complained about the UCI points system, which makes it hard for riders like himself to find a team.

Not surprised by Sutton but I had thought Hayman might leave, so that's a good hold for Sky.

im the other way around, thought hayman would stay, but surprised at sutton.

Good to hold onto both of them though, Hayman especially.

sucks to see solid riders getting pushed aside as they do their job and don´t get the chance to get points

Either way this points systems needs a major re-vamp, you get guys who are expected to ride their guts out on the front and not go FTW, but when you have a merger or a team disbands, because you have no points, you'll struggle to get a contract at WT level, or be forced to ride for peanuts at a Pro Conti or Conti level. And to stop cases where Garmin don't lrave Hushovd out of the Vuelta line-up in the fear that he will get too many points for BMC for the 2012 season. JV can say whatever he likes about wanting to give other guys a go, but it doesn't matter, the damage has been done on a PR level, but once it was confirmed that Hushovd was leaving and being left out a GT line-up, you can try and spin no matter how you like, it already gives the impression that Hushovd was dropped because he was leaving for BMC.
