Does that free up a space for a potential additional signing?

That Fassa kit is still some of the classiest around..

as far as I know, there will not be any more new signings for sky, unless there is a last minute pick up from Geox.

Dario basically is doing media liason with Italian organisers, and RCS etc, he is also doing translation with the Italian media/organisers etc and whatever else he can do in that area.

I think we can assume that sky will get a strade bianche invite this year.

he's not a very strong rider. he won't be missed

LOL, not very strong... every army needs its infantry, every cycling team needs its domestiques.

Not very strong is an excellent rider who has ridden for some of the worlds top teams.

Tom Zirbel to Kelly Benefits? I thought he said he was going to a team that would allow him to race in Europe.

If it was that good he would have taken them up on their offer me thinks. If there was an offer to begin with. ;)

im wondering if he just told garmin that sky made him an offer to get garmin to commit.. instead they left him to go to sky..

He comes across in the article as being a bit up his own ****.. wont go to america, wont drop down to pro conti or conti because he doesnt want to drop a level competatively.. theres more riders than teams.. take what is offered.. the fact that he met up with Brian Smith of Endura and didnt even mention he was looking for work is daft..

Vaughters has said on twitter that he offered him a DS role as well but he turned it down. All very odd.

Seems like good riddance to me.

Wow, what a ****. Beggers can't be choosers, and the funny thing is he was riding for Cervélo TestTeam for 2009 and 2010 which was pro continental :confused:

I was sympathetic to him beforehand about not having a ride for next year but I don't think that I can be now. I hope he has some qualifications next to his name so he can get a non-cycling job next year.

Has there been any news on EBH's future lately? Is he expected to extend with Sky beyond 2012 or go elsewhere?

He is very happy at Sky, and having Kurt Asle stick around as his coach. That said, obviously there are teams that want him for 2013 including Sky.

Sky have been pretty good to him, through illness, injury and occasional bouts of hypochnodria. He gets the race schedule he wants. To be fair though, until the Tour in 2011 he hadnt done much over 2010-2011 to increase his value that much.

But erm.. ask again in about October.. you can be sure it will be a lovely long drawn out procedure. Wouldnt surprise me though If sky dont announce his extension late spring or prior to the dauphine, maybe even after he wins the Tour of Norway.

Dude, what on earth is this about? You've already said it a couple of times but you seem to just have got that out of nowhere. You probably base this on his shingles case, but personally he just shrugged it off, it was his soigneur who spotted it and wanted him to go check it, before the doctor diagnosed him. Not like he made that up. As for his achilles he would probably have been much better off had he not continued riding far too much in 2010 after first noticing the pain.

Anyway, EBH originally said that he was looking to resign with Sky during the year, but he's also in talks with Saxo bank who has offered him a much bigger salary and the role as a leader in pretty much any race he can win, whereas in Sky the brits will always be prioritized.

.

yeh, the achilles probably would have cleared up much quicker if he had come off the bike straight away instead of trying to ride it off which it was never going to do. Dont know if that was him, or the team made that decision.

On the plus side, it seems to be behind him.

don't know if it was talked here but luca ascani,big,zulle-like rider found a nice team for next year:farnese vini
he can win something big next season,a stage race with an itt in it would be perfect for him.he has a terrible good engine.

Hey does anyone know what's going on with FlyV? No news but they've lost some of their riders, especially noteworthy is 2 of the loyal guys:

Cantwell -> SaxoBank
Kemps -> Champion Systems
Freiberg -> Jayco-AIS

If they are disbanding I hope someone like Johnny Walker can find another team, even if its just an Aussie Conti team.
