Didn't Sky did away with that policy something during this year?

Yes they did and I was going to pose this question if and when CAV signs with Sky.

Will Erik Zabel (a big part fo Cav and HTC success re sprint set up etc ) find a job @ SKY

£125 a day. Wow thats not bad. Whats your profession?

That's only £26k, straightforward to get a job on that salary with 2/3 years experience in London. You might even get it as starting salary.

Edit: £26k once you factor in the X-rate - €125 is closer to £100...

I think like Valverde 2012.

Ah yes your right, doesnt seem glamorous afterall.

I got a bit mixed up because ive been in Poland for the last month where wages and prices are lower (for now) and £125 for 2 days would provide a very comfortable lifestyle.

Not so much in London.

125 a day is peanuts, to give up work and to risk a career in cycling where opportunities generally run out at 34 (unless you ride for radio shack) you would need at least £50K a year given city starting salaries for graduates at good firms and banks are generally £28K a year and likely to rise for the rest of your life.....
Talking of Salaries what would Contador be on compared to Cavendish as a sprinter and Gilbert as a classics man?? All 3 are serial winners

£28k? You're getting screwed my friend. Starting bank salaries were £35k 8 years ago (regretably they haven't moved since, psychological barrier).

rumours have it that contador is making btw 5 and 6 mil a year.

cav was reported be getting 750k per year at high road but he was getting underpaid there. should be around 2 mil per year with his new contract. gilbert prolly also around the same?

Then you could try living on it in Oslo, it'd be truly hand-to-mouth!

I thought Contador was getting 4 mill @astana...

Philbert is at 1.7 mil this year, but it will be a lot more next year, a lot more..

To be quite honest I don't buy this idea that riders have only 10 [or some random number of ] year to make their money for life. Most can and do find other work after stopping racing.

There are so many Polish people living in Oslo you wouldn't believe it. They make very good wages here. They started coming in the summers as strawberry pickers many years ago, then they were hired as carpenters, now there are many Polish nurses and doctors as well. I hired three Polish guys a couple of years ago to refurbish my bathroom actually :)

You mean a polish plumber? Sorry couldn't resist the off-topic. :D On a serious note, Poland is on my "to go" list.

Are there actually transfer news or what? Pelizotti is one of those riders that tells me nothing. But him at Farnese would be okay I guess.

Basically they're playing the role of Gastarbeiter - send as much money as possible home, because being able to send 10% of your paycheck home on Norwegian wages converts to more Złoty (help me with the plural of that, Hitch!) than 10% of your paycheck on, say, German or Italian wages, since the average cost of living is higher in Norway and ergo the average salary is higher to compensate.

Been there, Krakow was great, combination of history/culture and young dynamism if you find the right places to go. Many international residents. Colourful city.

Anyway. Yeah. Transfer news would be nice!

They are already employing Knaven, who was part of the TVM team in '98, and even Bobby Julich who was part of the famous Cofidis team that was stuffed up with dope during that period.

If you can't even recruit people who have done nothing but to be on a suspicious team then you won't get many members...

Are we going to get this double-echo everytime a GE signing is announced? :D
Well that's essentially what the GE thread is now! Transfers and discussion, just more specific! :D

Well, some people might not be reading the GE thread but would still be interested to know about a transfer so I don't see any harm in it.
