Still, Tony Martin is worth the big buck as he's a guaranteed winner without much team support. What's not to like? He's also a proven domestique and can become World champion time trial.

I didnt actually say he wasnt worth it - I actually think he is. :)

Just makes me annoyed that the system is such that it rewards or makes it almost necessary to buy talent rather than develop it .... just to retain a licence. It ends up with teams bidding against each other for the services of those with points ....

Weilerflits are rumouring that Edvald Boasson Hagen may go to Saxobank :confused:

There was a report a couple of weeks ago (maybe on cyclismactu) that reported Saxo tried to sign him. There were quotes from Sky and EBH's agent confirming he was going nowhere.

edit: http://www.cyclismactu.net/news-transfert-la-saxo-bank-a-approche-boasson-hagen-17853.html

Agent (google translate): "We were approached by Bjarne Riis, but the answer was obviously no, because he is under contract".

I think some of the Sky guys are sick of working for a leader that doesn't exist. Good move if EBH takes it.

I hope Sky pay what it takes to make him stay if not - he's had so many injuries and has only scraped the surface of his capability.

I can understand that sentiment for most of the team but Edvald is the leader in the majority of races he enters.

Yeah, he never gets the chance to lead or just work for himself...

Not to mention that time he worked his a** off at Dauphine, just so wiggins could win the damn thing! Atrocious.

He's finally found some stability at Sky. Why go trough all that process again? I'm glad Sky and Hagen denied it.

The race is on to sign Othello Bourbon after his two recent victories. Yesterday he beat Tommy Voeckler without even breaking into a sprint. That's not easy task!

I predict Leopard Trek will pick him up because they have a habit of recruiting donkeys: Andy Schleck and Linus Gerdemann.

Sky are also interested in young Luxembourger Bob Jungels, rumour that he may go on the 100% me team for a year.

Can they do this? I was under the impression that 100%ME team is the British academy and is funded by British Cycling to develop young talent into riders who can win world or Olympic titles. Also, when the race abroad it is always as team GB.

I can't see how this could happen unless this guy has British parents.

It's probably more likely that they'll place him with a GB continental squad or with AnPost. I'm sure I read somewhere that Keith Lambert was a DS at AnPost so there could be some agreement already.

Because if Wiggo didn't break his fingernail at the Tour EBH wouldn't have won those stages. He'd probably also have a shot at Vuelta leadership but thats been dashed since Brad's now had his manicure.

He needs to break free and get with the Riis. Riis will make him into the next GT winner after Contador.

Smart move. Also Scandinavians like to be around each other.

lolz. Eddy is far better riding the autumn classics, where he could easily win 1 or two.

Why anyone would willing sign for such an unstable and uncertain team is beyond me, as much as I like Riis. EBH should not be signing for a team which could easily be struggling for a protour license.

Alexander Kristoff has signed for Katusha according to procycling.no. Can't say I'm particularly happy with his choice.

Because it's a better team than Sky.

Sorry, but your changing your arguments here. You said Sky guy's were leaving because They were tired of working for a leader who wasn't.I pointed out one example were the leader he worked for actually delivered. Dauphine. The Tour will always be a question mark.

Now you say it's a question of him having more chances.

Well, I fail to see what would be that much different if he went to Saxo- Bank. They both have very similar dynamics when it comes to leadership: one guy that puts the Tour as his main goal. So if he went to Saxo, according to your logic, he wouldn't have won those two stages as well...because he would be working for Contador!

Other than that, what races would he get as a leader/ free rider that he is not getting at Sky? (Serious question, I'm discussing ideas here). And let's not say Vuelta 2011, because, wether you like the guy or not, a collarbone is a misfortune and not some caracter trait. It can happen everywhere and to everyone.

As I pointed out on the first post. Things are finally working out for him, sporting-wise. I don't think it's worth all the hassle of accomodating yourself in a new team, specially when the other team won't give you any more assurances. (Leadership and collective, which is a question I now realize I diddn't even brought up, but could be valid when comparing Saxo and Sky)

Lol.

I suppose no reasonings at all is better than the usual flip flop nonsense.

Here's reasoning: He's not going to waste his time leading out Cavendish when he can actually do something for him self.

And yes, Team Saxo are better than Team Sky. Despite losing 90% of his team Riis won a GT and a Monument. According to Cavendish Sky won mostly shit small races anyway.

And Team Saxo will be WT next year with Contador's points alone ;) And no, they're not going to remove the points from the team as already said by Pat Mcquad. So your post was filled with nonsense yes. Might have stopped your post after "I hate Saxo and love Sky and I don't want their best cyclist leaving."
