Well they said that of Garmin as well this year with Haussler, Farrar, Hushovd etc and they won only one Classic with Van Summeren...

I never liked BMC they just throw the money around, just because they have Rhis who has nothing else to do than playing with a cyclingteam...

Are they proven classics winners? No. Gilbert is, with this signing alone I assure you Gilbert will get BMC lots of wins.

****ed off...big time!

With the money, Rihs' pockets are endless.

tbh I think it's good for him to ride next years classics as a domestique, he's still only 26. Another year w/o pressure and maybe he can get lucky because everyone will be marking Philbert.

why you say that?

Cause in Lotto not everything that could be done to help Evans was done, and Evans had to ride 'lesser' races too cause in contrary to BMC, Lotto couldnt always afford just focusing on one single race. Didnt you notice before? Also note ACF's extreme hate for JvDB cause he didnt 100% domestique for him.

I wonder how GVA feels about this

He can go back to Lotto or join OPQS, he expressed already his concerns earlier when the rumours grow that Gilbert could join BMC...

Well it was with Lotto he was able to establish himself again as a serious contender (although he didn't succeed) and i doubt if Lotto had the budget that BMC has... if you have the money then all goes easier in life...

Exactly and Lotto had a different focus too, McEwen for example, and didnt focus completely on the GC of Evans.

Good news for BMC. However i wanted to see a showdown between Gilbert Vs Evans at F-W. TJVG, Hushovd and Gilbert will all have to have places in the TDF squad next year. Now Evans just needs a sickass climber ( Syzmd, CAS )

I'm not so sure about Hushovd having his place in the TDF squad, i read in a belgian newspaper that Evans didn't want Hushovd in the TDF squad, "no sprinter in my TDF squad as it was with Lotto (McEwen)", that promises...

Gilbert always said he didn't want to do the TDF 2012 even if it was in Liège because the stages weren't that difficult like they were this year... well money can change your mind i guess...

Shows human nature is the same, world over.
Cadel's BMC become the Australian version of Lance's USPS.

At least ACF and dlwssonic can say they joined upon inception.
The fanboy founding fathers, so to speak!:D

And this comment is relevant to the thread how? Why do you feel the need to have a go at people, you little man?

Why does when they started supporting them matter?
He is implying that the BMC fans are band wagon supporters which in a way is fair but the amount of new teams and transformations of teams makes it hard to always support a specific team for a long period of time.

Well his comments were totally irrelevant to the thread topic or anything that has been posted in the thread yet he feels the need to attack another poster. Even so, 2 wrongs do not make a right.

Especially when the PT team is two years old. But who'd have thought some Australians would follow the team of the first Australian to win the Tour? Pretty amazing really:rolleyes:

Yeah I know, but it seems silly to imply that the excitement of a new fan would or should be any less than the excitment of an established fan.

Not silly, petty maybe.

more strong riders might not be great news for CE

he's now definitely not the top classics guy at BMC

by the time next season rolls around it is possible that Evans has not great form (or AC has great form) and BMC decide to hedge their bets and take Gilbert and Hushovd to the TdF for stages/time in yellow. I'm not saying that this is definitely going to happen, just that it's much easier to be confident in a guy who has literally just won the tour than a guy who won the tour a year ago and is now a year older (and not in a good way).

IMHO the moves for Popovyc, Kohl, and Dekker were better balanced in terms of guys to help Cadel. (pure mountain domestiques) although obviously none worked out Kohl+Dekker (clinic) Popo (lack of desire/commitment/leadership/legs).

not saying that they're bad signings, just that they possibly don't help Evans much.

Did I wake up to find you had been made into a mod?
Who are you to decide what is relevant and what isn't?
It was in reply to lanternrouge's post, not you.
Are you that stupid, you can't distinguish between a compliment and a personal attack?

Grow up and you too can become a little man.

don't have anything to add to the argument, just wanted to say - awesome nickname :)

I don't like the news about Gilbert at BMC. It seems like cycling Galacticos. Hopefully, they will win as much as Real Madrid did in recent years [though I actually like most of the riders of BMC, just don't like such super-strong teams in any sport]
