Any new riders rumored to SBTB?

I read several places this morning that Bjarne stated there would be more signings, anyone heard any rumors regarding who that could be?, i seem to remember from somewhere that Alberto requested Basso to the team?

Seems impossible... Cannondale will keep Basso, especially due to Nibali, who´s leaving. They also lose Capecchi and Szmyd, so Basso is the last man to do well in stage races.

Furthermore, Riis signed Kreuziger and other solid names, Saxo Bank never offered the highest Budget, and Tinkoff himself won´t put enormous sums into the team, he paid his stars like Hamilton and Jaksche badly when riding for him in 2007, knowing they were glad to have found a team at all.

No more stars to SBTB for 2013, I guess. Kreuziger, Kolobnev, Bruseghin, Breschel, Bennati, that´s already extraordinary.

No, that was Ciolek who signed with MTN-Qhubeka.

Susan

And Stauff, from Conti team EddyMerckx-Indeland, who already rode for QuickStep.

I mention him here because we won´t hear from him before autumn 2013. :p

Kolobnev and Bruseghin are not official yet, but they indeed seem likely.

I just noticed that on Sky's race calendar, track sprinter Jason Kenny is listed as a participant in Paris-Tours. Weird...

That is weird...

I also noticed that it seems like EBH has finished his season at the worlds. A bit surprising considering the form he had there.

Jason Kenny is removed from the list now, seems to have been some sort of mistake.

EBH said he had two races left this season. I thought they were Circuit Franco Belge and Paris-Tours, but for some reason he's not on the startlist on either.

Would have liked to see him take a shot at Lombardia. Would most likely be too hard but I think he could have surprised some people.

Maybe he's riding the Tour of Beijing then?

i don't think broco has ever been hyped, me and libertine always said he should do the vuelta because he most likely couldn't handle a GT.

anyway it's not like i am saying mestre would be a leader, just a guy like hernandez or something like that. and he did out climb cardoso on the stage to senhora da graça last year. And it's not like he is going to sky, at euskaltel he would probably be one of their best domestiques.

i agree with you on cardoso being a disappointment this season, his vuelta wasn't awful but not exactly good either, it was his first GT tho so i will give him a break on that. i think he should focus on breakaways on mountain stages and domestique work. not every1 can be a leader after all

cardoso outclibmed mestre everywhere last year but was forced to be a helper of mestre, who won the itt. the only reason for portugese riders to become something is go ride outside of portugal, starting a su23. see also rui costa

I certainly hope he isn't, that'd be such a waste. He should much rather try to win Paris-Tours and some of the other one-day races coming up, in which he'd have a great chance of winning.

EBH was on Sky's list for Circuit Franko-Belge until yesterday. Strange, he should ride the wave of good form. And LPN did'nt get on Sky's list for Lobardia until very late, but I checked and he's now confirmed on the starting list there.

PS, On topic now: Sven Erik Bystrøm, is reported having talks with Katusha, through Kristoff. he'll stay in Norway for another year, but then he'll hopefully will be ready to move in 2014.

Is this ranking based on WT points? If this is the case, he wont bring anything at all :)

To be honest, I´d like seeing Basso at SBTB, too... If there´s anyone who still could get the maximum out of Basso, then it would be Riis.

Cannondale are lucky to keep Sagan, so it looks good for one days and stages at stage races. Losing Kreuziger first, and now Nibali and Capecchi, is a harsh blow for their stage race overall ambitions.

Hope he does like Zabriskie in 2009... Riding Paris-Tours in a skinsuit... But that´s strange, can´t imagine he doesn´t get dropped before the final, coming directly from the track. Maybe he did a basic endurance period for four or five weeks after the Olympics, but even then, it would be hard.

But why not. (If he really starts, which I rather doubt)

No... the WT rankings ( the ones that decide whether you'll be in WT or Conti ) are not based only on WT points you know... that's why riders dominating African / Asian tour are sto valuable to smaller teams as they bring lots of points...

Reinhardt has 74 points mainly earned on the Europe Tour.

And the WT points count only for a small amount of points (basically the rider ranking in the WT gives points - 100 for the first 10, 70 points for 10th to 20,...)
