Giacomo Nizzolo and Yaroslav Popovych renew with radioshack.

Very good news for Nizzolo. He's been developing well since joining the team. Actually one of the few bright spots in Radioshack's season.

Is this certain? It appears that Brixia Sport SpA have bought out Liquigas Sport SpA rather than taking over the sponsorship rights of the team.

Seems from the info that this is more about the organism behind the team, such as Slipstream Sports (Garmin), Abarcá Sports (Movistar) or Riis Cycling (STB)

Does that not mean that it is a different team, with a need to apply for a new licence, no team points for sporting criteria etc?

Why can't Radioshack sign any of these top riders coming out of the development team right now?

I think it's cos they want (need) wins now to justify their budget and the calibre of riders they've got on the payroll..

Yeah, I agree. He's been very impressive lately. I would say "Very good news for RSNT" instead though ;)

Nothing change, just the office were license is kept; indeed the press release mention that they are working on keeping the WT license even if its still 2014.

There's only Jungels as a top talent and he might join Radioshack, like he said himself.

It's good for both. His calendar has been great this year, perfectly suited to his potential. They're doing a fine job.

According to teamskyfans.com Bob Jungels (winner of u23 roubaix) is also rumored to go to sky, if Vanmarcke is planning on going to Sky the help of Jungels means he wouldn't solely be carrying the team. Sky and Rabobank I think would be the best teams for him. Radioshack I think would also be a good team but I don't know how many opportunities he would get there.

what? jungels and vamarcke are COMPLETELY different riders

Some people forget Jungels is only 19  He should not be racing GTs/long classics much until he is a least three or four years older! RSNT would be a huge mistake for him. I could see him do well at Sky, but I think Garmin would be great for him. JV is pretty good at developing riders and other than Talansky, all the team leaders are getting rather old!

Nordhaug said during the Vuelta stage today that he knew where Cav was riding next year. But wouldn't say where (of course). But probably means Cav has signed for new team.

Has anyone heard where Gediminas Bagdonas is likely to end up next year? As I mentioned (at length, over and over again) he was supposed to go to Geox this year, but ended up staying with An Post after Geox collapsed. This year he's been even better than last year, and again An Post say that he's on his way to a big team.

Hopefully he doesn't join Lars Petter.

Vanmarcke is a classics rider and Jungels has shown promise and ability to be a good classics rider as well. My point was that if both of them joined Sky then all the weight of carrying the team wouldn't just be on Vanmarcke, which he doesn't want.

Uhh, Sky has at least 3 riders who are far better than Jungels in the classics.

Winning the u23 Paris-Roubaix doesn't immediately make you a contender in the elite classics, not even close. Just take a look at some of the last winners: Koen de Kort, Tom Veelers, Gaudin, Vermeltfoor, Sinkeldam, Lagutin, Popovych...did you see any of those in the finale of P-R this year, or ever?

In the last 15 years the only winners of u23 P-R who can be considered genuine contenders for the elite P-R are Hushovd and Phinney (in the future, at least).

Vanmarcke was 48th in RVV and 84th in Roubaix, I know he did well in the earlier classics but it's hardly like Sky would expect him to carry the weight of the whole team if they get him...

I think the idea that he would be expected to carry the Garmin cobbled classics teams is inaccurate.
At most he would be a protected rider along with Vansummeren and Maaskant. And the support would come from riders like Kiler, Farrar, Haussler, and Rosseler.

I believe it is mostly about $ and the comment was just an excuse.

EDIT to add: The comment about Vaughters not being at every race is interesting. Makes me think maybe he had a rift with one of the other DS's.

Indeed, even EBH was better in the monuments this year. Geraint Thomas should certainly be up there too.

It seems that the Dutch have been specialising in peaking in the u23 category the last decade. Very few can make the complete transition to full blown big names. Even Gesink and Mollema remain just below the top.

Yes, Kelderman is promising, but then again, so were pretty much all of them in their first years. Perhaps he's the one who change it all, otherwise Rabo is doing something seriously wrong.
