If that's all riis signs, would they even make wt?

And any chance that cancellara could still happen ?

But all those names aren't exactly riders that win you races. If that is all Riis will sign, Saxo will just be Contador+support again with a top 10 from someone else every now and then.

Riis has said more people has been / will be signed, but that they're not going public yet with deals because of riders being sidelined for exactly those reasons.
I think STB said a few days ago that there'll soon be - likely during Vuelta - more news. That sounds as if deals are still being worked on.
I'm guessing it's a mix of deals done, deals to be done and a few extensions to be finalised.

Very very certain Riis will not put all eggs in the Contador basket next year - too risky!

That being said I most def want some names now!!! Otherwise I might burst at the seams...

Thanks for that. I see the Cofidis ranking is still extremely low despite the recent signings. No chance of world tour next year then I guess.

It seems to be a four way battle for two places between Argos, Europcar, Euskaltel and Saxo Bank (assuming all the other teams are still going next season, which seems to be the case). Degenkolb's Vuelta stage wins are very useful for Argos but they'll still need to buy some more points (riders) to make sure. We await Riis' signings and it remains to be seen what Euskaltel and Europcar will do but I fancy those two will be the teams to miss out on WT licenses next year.

That's horrible, because I want all those to be WT :(

Please RSNT collapse! Make way for Euskaltel!

I think the carrots would still get invited to pretty much everywhere they want to ride and of course the one positive to come out of it is that we won't have to see them racing (crashing) over the cobbles of Northern Europe again!

Mollema didn't suck that hard today, he had to change bikes twice, during the climb cause of a mechanical and during the descent cause of a crash:eek:. Hope he's gonna top ten

Is there any more update on new Team IAM?

this "silly season" is boring like mad.....

Wow.
“We will make sure we have the best controls and we will work closely with the UCI,” he said. “We have a strict policy. We will not hire anyone, not a rider or a staffer, who has something to do with doping. We are going to work with doctors from a clinic in Geneva to control the riders.”

This makes me a bit uneasy.....

mmm, i always wondered if euskaltel preferred to skeep some WT races (Flanders, Roubaix, Gent, E3, Eneco, Poland, Beijing and others) in which they do not have any hope, and the basque people don't follow AS MUCH as other races. and leave the spot to some other wild card teams

exactly. They will for sure get wild card invitations to the three grand tours and other big races if they are proconti. I don't think it's important for Euskaltel to continue as a WT team. They could get just as many results as a proconti team than as a wt team.

That would cost them more than their entire budget.

That depends, I guess. His last two seasons were relatively dissappointing (mostly because of crashes though), and maybe he wants to get out of RSNT as quickly as possible, therefore allowing a lower wage for IAM, which is a Swiss team too, after all.

Argos aren't going to buy a lot of big points, the world tour will remain the same.

Vanmarcke not to win one race next year with Rabo, in 2014 back to Garmin and wins RVV and PR...:D
