Well they are getting both leadership at Vuelta this year already ;)

Yeah, but that's duel leadership, they both deserve their own grand tour. I suppose one could target Giro and the other Vuelta next year. But who knows whether Wiggins and Froome will both go to the Tour or if one will want to take on a different grand tour (wiggins especially, the guy is unpredictable). At another team they would have their choice of grand tours.

According to Radiocorsa, Cannondale is not happy with what Basso said during his Operacion Puerto speech, and with his involvment with the spanish doctor.
They would like to see the team go on next year with Sagan and Moser as road captains.

Sagan seems also to have attracted a possible sponsor from his home Country.

Well it's pretty clear Basso "defended" his Giro 06:eek: (No clinic please)

The truth is he is getting older while Sagan and Moser are pretty young and promising

absolutely ^^^ !

also from beppe conti, radiocorsa:

venezuela wants to enter in world tour, next year...the team will be called venezuela-androni
and they will have as leaders: franco pellizotti, felline, gavazzi

and..

...sergio luis henao and rigo uran

difficult to believe it but if coldeportes won't have money...

where did you read that? if it's true they will surly sign rujano too. they tried to do with gianetti before, but had insufficient time to get it all done with uci when geox pulled out at the last minute

Can't see Sky letting 2 of them go. One of them, definitely yes. Not 2.

they have no choice. they are end of contract and both want to ride for a colombian/local team, especially henao.

Offer much more money. It usually does the job more than chance of leading few more races :p However I know it's not the same with Colombians mostly, I just can't see Sky letting 2 of them go at once.

Hmm, Porte might indeed go, however who knows, he's acclimatized himself at Sky very well.

uran maybe. henao doesn't care. why do you think he stayd so long in colombia?

I expect Sky will be offering them a lot of money to stay, but I don't think money will convince them. Sky's going to have to offer them leadership, specifically leadership in GT's.

yes and leadership in the tour. and that won't happen with froome

Surely when Basso would leave ( more wage cap ) + new sponsor they'd bring one leader more to the team along Moser and Sagan ?

Can't see it happening. Savio always has teams with dozens of sponsors, each bringing a couple of pennies. For the World Tour they will need XXL shirts to print all those sponsors.

did you read what it said? venezuelan will be the sponsor.

savio told them rujanito is unstable which is not far from truth
even the other venzuelans from the team were against rujano but defended savio

that's why rujano is so special not even his own country wants him anymore

not true. rujano is a hero in venezuela. no other cyclist has the star status he has and never has in the past

also monsalve left the team very angry and savio has a very bad reputation especially in colombia. I can't see it happening under savio.

I wonder how the Wiggins-Froome dynamic will work next year. As far as I'm aware Wiggins' contract runs out at the end of this year whereas Froome's runs through to 2014. I think whatever happens this year both of them will want outright leadership at the Tour in 2014. The Tour starts in Britain which will boost their profile even further. Could we see a situation whereby Wiggins leaves Sky at the end of this year? Where would he go? Cannondale (although I'm not sure they'd have the cash/domestiques)? Could he be Astana's Tour leader in 2014?

I think Uran and Henao will stay, they both seem pretty happy to be with Sky. Unless, that is, Team Colombia gets the budget to sign them and get into the World Tour. This Venezuelan thing sounds like a pipe dream of Savio's, for many reasons.

Depends on what other teams can offer really. Cannondale don't have the money. Rihs is probably a bit over parting with his hard earned so BMC would want to wait to clear Evans/Hushovd from their books first. Katusha would be an option if Rodriguez and co. depart but not sure anyone would want to go their given the management history. Saronni might have the cash if Merida put in. If something happened to Contador, Riis would be interested.

Think most likely would be a new or revamped team or Astana. GreenEdge will have lots of contracts up so could make a play for Porte and Froome. Wiggins will be there for life imo, Froome will not be worried by him either because he knows he's better on most routes.

Uran > Henao > Porte > Froome > Wiggins in order of most likely to leave.

Italian Rai's Radiocorsa mentioned that Alberto Contador would like to end his career (2014 and afterwards) in an italian team; according to the tv program there would be talks for a return of a past cycling sponsor from Italy and an ex italian team manager.

He says alot to pleasy the italians. And they readily misinterpret most of it (the Giro participation fx). His contract with Saxo runs till 2016 btw. I reckon he will stay at Saxo or go to a Spanish team later on.
