That would make them the highest budget team in Pro Cycling in 2012 ?

I think you overestimated it a little. BMC budget is around 16 Million, same with KAtusha and Astana. Rabo has 15 million, but splits it with women and Rabobank B too. RSNT believed to be around 15-14 too_OPQS, Sky and GE ( with Orica as new sponsor ) have around 11 million.

No it wouldn´t make them with the highest budget in pro cycling, far from it.
Your info sucks!

And where's your info ?

As I have several sites to confirm it. Several charts has been posted in this thread actually showing team budgets from 2011 as well confirming my info.

EDIT : Found of the charts from 2011.

So Astana and BMC increased their bugdets for 2012 by far the most.

However if you sat Tinkoff adds another 10 million, that makes them highest budget team or at least in Top 3.

So with all things so far - it looks like your info sucks ;)

I'm starting to think that Tinkov taking over half of Saxo's sponsorship (let's say the old Sungard part, plus some extra pocket money maybe) is probably closer to the truth.

I think you underestimate the brand of Riis Cycling, it´s been one of the top 3 sports brands for years. You don´t get that cheap, and it have been mentioned Saxo pay 8 million euros as sole sponsor. So no my estimate is not that far fetch, though it´s hard to say how Tinkoff and Saxo share it, but as I said, it´s an estimate.

Everybody should always keep remembering that Rabobank doesn't actually have a 15 million budget, because 15 million includes the offroad team, the development team and the womens team as wel. So rabobank is not actually a rich team, because they run 4 teams with 15 million, instead of one.

and you seriously take a photoshop pic posted on photobucket for valid info?
And I havent said Tinkoff adds another 10 million of the simple reason nobody knows but Riis Cycling and Saxo bank, it was an estimate based on how you normally share a Co sponsor ship.

The 8 million from Saxo I have from the Danish institution "Selskabsstyrelsen" in which all budgets are public available if you pay a small fee for it.

Why does that nonsense picture keep popping up? Some blogger did some googling and came up with these numbers. They were bullsh.t then, and they still are. Ridiculously low budgets for BMC, Sky, Shack.

You can spare your rolleyes emotes gloin, it dosen´t make you look smarter, not even clever.

Yes I seen this pic several times before, and clicked next post, I cant take that kind of "info" for valid, I could probably find 200 links with all "updated budgets" concerning pro teams budgets, but fact is no one knows for sure, its guessing and estimates all of it. Maybe take that into consideration next time you wanna play clever.

Besides, there's a difference between budget and expenses. If we assume that chart is correct (which it isn't), it doesn't tell anything. Especially for a team like BMC, budget is no issue. The budget will be as high as they need it, entirely determined by demand side and not by supply. So it doesn't tell you anything about which teams are rich or have opportunities or not.

And he is riding the Vuelta?! JV should kick him out asap, preventing any spilled WT points... ;)
Perhaps Vaughters thinks he isn't a threat to win points :D

Vaughters is a genius then. Instead of putting in the guy leaving the team and allowing them to take some points to their new team put in the guy leaving the team that he knows won't take any points to his new team. :D

*sigh* (insert comment about how terrible the points system is) :(

Do we know if Vanmarcke has been linked to anyone? I remember hearing OPQS & BMC as possible destinations.

No wonder no one decent wants to ride for Vaughters.

Right, and who would really want to ride on Garmin? What do they have to offer a rider other than to be able to sit on their bandwagon soapbox. Dekker basically only had that option or ride for a Conti team so could see his angle. And Vaughters had a man crush on him.
