Flecha had a contract with Sky for 2013 so I guess they allowed him to leave. Probably looking for sole leadership at the classics and also unhappy at not being on the Sky Tour squad.

Sep Vanmarcke is likely to join Sky now. So definitely younger, promising replacement.

Well they've sent EBH to work with Kerrison so that might sort him out and then there's Geraint Thomas of course who has potential. But I could see them adding to their classics squad with Flecha and (probably) Eisel both leaving. Hayman has been linked with a move away too and that just leaves Stannard as their only other notable cobbles rider.

Where did you read that? I thought he was off to Rabobank to replace Breschel...

Ah. Somehow I didn't think he was joining Sky of all teams. Makes sense though.

Well he has offer from Rabobank and believed to be one from Sky. He said he's already decided, and with Flecha leaving - it would as you say make sense for him to join Sky.

There's no-one there now that is proven classics rider. EBH is unknow for next season in classics. Hayman is not getting younger. Stannard should do well, but still has to show it in big classics. Geraint Thomas is their best bet, but having spent all season on track, he will have to get used to road again wchich might hamper his performance next year - and so out of all this - Sep should have leading role at Sky. Wchich suits him.

I just read the original article here

It says " Nuyens is close to an agreement with Garmin and could sign a contract for 2 years."

It's still conditional but says it's imminent.
