Cyclingfever says Nieve rumored to Saxo. I guess we have to wait and see if EUS does that merge with Lampre or whatever.

I'm wondering where Saxo would get the money to pick up another good quality rider like Nieve. With Tinkoff pulling out their 6M euros, Riis has to cover contracts of the guys he bought while under Tinkoff. I'd have thought Saxo might be a bit strapped for cash these days.

Lool both guys are good for about half a billion dollars....each, I don´t think Saxo lacks money.

Sky are being very quiet! With Uran leaving and Wiggins likely retiring/being past it, they could well be short, especially with Porte and Henao unlikely to be acting as domestiques too much next year. At least one super-dom seems essential! Does anyone know who they are realistically linked with? other than Sebastien Henao who I'm guessing will need a season to adjust?

Nieve was linked to them.

To be honest, I don't really want Nieve to be a helper for anyone.

Langeveld and Deignan rumored. Nathan Earle signed.

Henao has said he'll probably be riding the Tour next year so he'll be Froome's super dom. Sky extended Froome, Porte and Henao's contracts with significantly improved salaries you'd imagine so I doubt they have much spare budget left. They also still have Wiggins and EBH on huge contracts for 2014.

I really hope Wiggins wins the world TT so that he can retire on a high, as can't see him being much use to Sky next year. That would leave some room for a climber like Nieve to come in.

How useful do you reckon Deignan will be?

Costa's manager Juan Campos, said negotiations are down to Movistar, BMC and AG2R. He also said his future might only be announced by the end of the WC. There is also a strong possibility of him renewing with Movistar.

wow. could he possibly pick any worse teams?

sky aren't planning to get any big names. their team is already pretty much what it will be, minus uran, hayman, ebh maybe 1 or 2 more and plus sebastian henao, deignan. wiggins may leave but I doubt it now.

What makes you think EBH will leave? Sky seem to love him for some reason and i think he's still under contract next year.

Also, as an expert on Colombian cycling, how good is Sebastian Henao? Will he be good enough to be of use in a GT or will he need a year to adapt/improve?

sebastian henao is very close to the talent of sergio. so he would not need any year to adapt evemn if he is only 20 years old. he won't do as well as sergio in his first year but he will be good. he's more pure climber type compared to sergio though

I didn't know ebh had one more year left. I don't think sky are happy with him at all

They also signed Nathan Earle.

Hopefully Early his teammate Jack Haig will be picked up aswell although he is still only 19 years old (will turn 20 this season), he is having an impressive year.

Although already pretty certain a while ago its now official
Cannondale signs some very good talents for 2014: Villella, Bettiol, Mohoric and Formolo.

Lampre signs Bonifazio (has been very impressive in Italy), Conti and Polanc

yep, pretty much what i have been thinking. He was also rumoured to SKY but i don't think he wanted to move there as he would have even less freedom than at Movistar.

If i were on his position i would accept Movistar's offer and try to work out with them some sort of increasing clause like Valverde had on his first contract with Illes Baliares.

This way he would stay on the best team for him and Abarca would have another year to try and find the money needed to pay him making both parties happy.

If true i would say its a bad decision.

He will be covered by Froome, Porte and Henao at pretty much every race, be it 1 day, 1 week or a GT

From what I've been told, he will be Porte's right hand man at the Giro. Whilst also targeting the Ardennes.

Good move?
