Plenty of riders will be looking for a pro contract. Perhaps many will avoid the team, but others will line up. Remember many riders also have pretty messy CVs.

True and Tinkoff already hinted he wants guys who are willing "to go the extra mile" to get results.

No matter what, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Monfort must leave Trek, Lotto-Belisol most likely outcome for the Belgian.

Klöden to IAM?

Vandewalle goes to Trek (?)

Thanks for the info. Wow, Trek will really be a completely different team next year. I am amazed that they don't want Monfort anymore, but it's probably the right step for him anyways and Lotto-Belisol sounds like a good fit. Klöden to IAM - doesn't that violate MPCC rules, or are IAM not a member, or was Klöden absolved of everything? Also sounds like a good fit, Klöden already lives in Switzerland anyways and can make big Franks there.

Monfort is a very good rider, so on the first sight it is suprising that he must leave. Trek however want to fully focus on creating a team around Cancellara for the classics, so some riders must leave the team (Monfort, Klöden, Horner (?)) to make space for that. With guys like Sergent, Nizzolo, Jungels, they have some strong quality for the future to.

It will be a good squad though, with a strong classics team and some young guys who can climb, sprint and tt

Nizzolo is heavily rumoured to be joining Cannondale next year.

Damn, I was really hoping he would be riding for Cannondale next year (even though I don't know where he would fit in)

I think he has to get more help from inside the team, because he shows that he is really up there with the best sprinters (has to win stages in Giro and Vuelta with his speed). Radioshack doesn't concern much about him, sadly enough.

But re: Nizzolo. ALL contracts are up for re-negotiation, so even though Nizzolo signed for 2 years in 2012 he must sign a new contract with Trek since Leopard no longer holds the license. So he can sign with anyone he wants.

The Schlecks for example signed 4 years with Leopard and also had to sign a new contract.

But I hope he will sign with Trek and as I said before I interprete the signings of Alafaci and Felline (?) as positive signs that they want to create an Italian sprinting force with Nizzolo.

So far I've only found an interview from last year where he said he turned down offers by lower teams because they couldn't offer him the race program he wanted. A user at the German Tour Forum said, he had an offer by MTN - not sure if that's what I've read back then or if it was more. However, at least we know he turned down ProConti offers and lost a year to sign with a ProConti team now.

Luxemburger Wort print edition says "the remaining of Nizzolo and the signing of Felline are supposed to be done deals" for Trek. But I don't know how trustworthy it is, the bit about Nizzolo is the only piece of new information in a long article that otherwise only states what has been known for weeks
