They could certainly use him... they need a big leader next to Nibali.

Yea, while young guys like Aru and Lutsenko continue to improve it is nice to have someone who can challenge for victories in classics and for gc excpet from Nibali.

Astana please. :)

He is most interested in sporting and career acomplishment.

I think he wants to focus on the Tour in 2014, and with Nibali also going for 2014 Tour, there would be very little space for him.

I think Lampre would be the better choice, given that they need someone decent to fight for the GC in the Tour.

RTP1 just confirmed on the news that Rui Costa won't continue at Movistar.

BMC, Astana and Lampre were mentioned to be on the run.
That's too bad, I would prefer to see him there in a very solid team.

Who is the classics specialist cum rouler for OPQS?

I mean, is there anyone who is replacing Chavanel in the roster?

Stybar has stepped up, so there really isn't need for a replacement.

Boonen, Stybar and Terpstra should be enough firepower.

I am aware of is ''obession'' with the Tour (Valverde syndrome?) but imo he is still not capable of fighitng for a top GC spot in Le Tour. He would crack somewhere in the Mountains (altough wasn't easy to understand this year since he turn off the engine in the last GC mountain stages, in order to stage hunt the next days). I admit i'd rather see him stay in Movistar and eventually lead the Ardennes, 1 weeks, some other hilly classics...

He gave up on Vattenfall to keep up is training in High Altitude, before heading to Plouay and the Canadians. That can mean something tho.

Probably it only means he is invested on becoming World Champion, which is very very unlikely.

Stannard has been linked to OPQS. Obviously he's no Chavanel replacement but he would improve the depth. Having said that they're not exactly short of guys for the cobbles: Trentin, Kwiatkowski, Steegmans, Vandenbergh, Keisse, Maes etc.

Good stuff. Lastras must be close to retirement, mind.

And further years of wondering how the hell Rojas and Intxausti manage to coexist without strangling each other.

What's the story with those two?

Intxausti is quite staunchly Basque. When stage winners got their big national flags to wave on the podium at the Giro, he refused the Spanish flag.

Rojas is a Francoist.

Ah, I see, thanks. Fortunately it seems they hardly ever race together (at least not this season).
