Sagan brothers (Peter and Juraj) to Tinkoff - done deal.

Confirmed from the source close to Peter.

I do not know if I am happy about that but at least I will see how Sagan looks like in yellow jersey. :D.

he rode for them as u23 and left because he didn't want to become pro there
You're clueless and you know it, Dumoulin left because Skil offered him a pro contract (and Rabo didn't).

Rabo preferred Jetse Bol...

Could be announced on Thursday.

Tour de France green jersey winner Peter Sagan will join Tinkoff-Saxo next season, the Slovak daily Sport said on Tuesday.

It claimed the Russian-owned team would probably officially announce the deal after Thursday's stage of the Tour of Poland.

"The three-time winner of the green jersey from the Tour de France has signed a contract with the team of Russian entrepreneur Oleg Tinkov," the daily said.

Cobo, Horner, Rujano, Schleck..... lot's of great GT stars available.

Maybe Betancur won't find a team because of his attitude?

They could be the new Vacansoleil? :p
We'll call it the "all star" team. LOL.

He's apparently a model pro in terms of how he looks after himself, trains and is low-maintenance for the teams that he rides on. But does anyone know if Juraj is really a WT-level rider or is there purely because of his brother? I'm not being sarcastic, it might be that he does a lot of work for the teams he rides on which aren't reflected in his rather mediocre results and which i haven't seen on TV.

In Danish media he's being displayed as though he's quite sub par, and basically only there to make Sagan jr. comfortable

As junior and U23 rider Juraj was quite decent. Never on Peter's level, but OK.

But as pro he never got off the ground. He'll be doing a Prudencio for the rest of his career, I guess.

Oleg Tinkov ‏@olegtinkov 15 min
I assume @PeterSagan indeed prefers his podium girls. F1 has plenty of that stuff, when I stand for family values, and not tolerate mistress...

Well he's not going to Tinkov.. That's for sure..

But this comment... Grow up Tinkov....!!

He was just ****ed off when they offered Jetse Bol a pro contract and told him to stay at Rabo CT for another year. Then he went to Giant

I reckon Nicki Sørensen will retire as well. Roche has been rumoured to leave the team. I could imagine Kump and Pires being history too. And maybe they could relaese CAS of his contract. He has been a bit frustrated on the team, hasnt performed and Holm has said he would like him to join OPQS

Roche's departure from Tinkoff would appear to be confirmed.

I wonder if this move is all about the $$$. I am sure Tinkoff can match whatever SKY is offering (if he wants too).

He's basically has the same role if he was to move over to SKY. From an outsiders POV, I thought the team spirit/moral of Tinkoff Saxo was better than SKY. It seems like he was getting along well with his teammates and staff members.

Tinkoff needs to make room for his new signings .....Probably doesn't want to keep Roche as Nico will not get more $$$ at SKY than at TCS

Not guaranteed Roche will go to SKY ( I hope not)

How much money does Roche cost anyway?

Best GT GC result 5th
Best WT level 1 day result 5th
Best WT level 1 week stage result 5th

And that at age 30

I am sure there are some not so useful riders they can get rid of instead of Roche :)

If he does leave, I too hope he doesn't go to SKY. I was starting to like him. The last thing I want to see is SKY burning him out and pulling the whole peloton up a climb.

Is it just me or do others also think that the salary figurers named for Sagan are really high( for cycling for sure).... 3 mio/year. this year his results are surely not worth such a pay grade. I mean valverde gets probaly around 1,5 million( maybe less after his doping ban) and he gets a lot more wins and GC placings in grand tours.

Compared with soccer its peanuts of course but if you know whta T martin and valverde etc make then Sagan is much hype and he gest paid for the things he could be winning ... not for what he is winning. And it smore then possibly that he never reaches his full potential and that he already peaked early. His climbing for example isn t getting any better and his sprint is also getting slower. Firts you would have tought he could maybe win LBL and FW but now he seems more a rider for the flemish classics +MSR and Tour stages.

You can only pay a rider on what you hope they will win ...hence big pay packet for Sagan

But Riis will have to work with him to ensure wins and he is going to need support in the classics ...some strong support
But it is true he has not won what you would expect him to have won already

I personally would have bought Degenkob if I were Tinkoff ....Sagan si great but its a costly investment.....

As for Roche ...guess he is on about 600K/700K but can't see SKY paying too much more than this.....Maybe SKY promised him more opportunities but I cannot see that happening if he is pulling for Froome & Porte ,etc

Sagan has the potential to win multiple classics, multiple Tour stages, Green Jersey and World Champs. Pretty much every year. No obvious ties to doping. Great personality, fans and sponsors love him.

He deserves every Euro he can get.
