No kidding...
Well, how would it sound if an owner of a team says: "He's not marketable at all, but I've spent ridiculous amount of money without thinking about the business."?
Now, I'm going to be very smart and predict he'll claim Sagan will win MSR and RVV, and Contador the Tour.

Sir Fly,
the Brits will never accept that and I can understand that. That being said, I just cant imagine any global advertiser being interested in some cold, unfriendly and unappealing and some would even say arrogant personality of someone like Froome or Vigo.

Sorry but the current top 3 for advertisers are Sagan, Spartacus and maybe the Shark but some may even prefer Jensie for their global campaign unless you are talking an Italian company.

Lets speculate: Oleg paid 14 million Euro for Sagan for 3 years. Is very likely that on that period of time, he will amass a considerable amount of race victories, including couple monuments & perhaps a multi-day race. having those titles raising his profile & bulking his already wealthy Palmares, the publicity/advertising money coming in from sponsors will represent an additional income for both-Peter & the team. By the time the contract is about to expire, Olev has a rider's contract worth 18 million alone, for any team wishing to buy him out-even if Sagan desires to move to another team, they must pay premium price for his transfer.....

....and he doesn't have to win The Tour or any GT for that matter..;)

EBH confirms to procycling.no that he is leaving Team Sky, he is currently in talks with five-six teams. He wants a change of environment and more opportunities to ride for his own chances.

No big surprises really.

About time. Can't wait to see him get back to stage hunting and toughman sprints.

IMO he should try and get to Garmin or MTN-Qhubeka.

Ryo - sometimes its not about the race, its winning it that counts.

winning is the most important. but haven been a wt rider for 4 years and not won anything of any standard tells me he lacks the engine to become something good

Roompot (Dutch holiday resort kind of thing) confirmed as the sponsor for a newly formed PCT focussing mainly on Dutch riders. The team will be headed by Boogerd, Breukink and Van Poppel.

Rumoured riders; Hoogerland, Lindeman, Lammertink, the Kreder's and probably more. (discuss)

Good for Dutch cycling to have a pro-conti team again.

I'd say easily a few 100k, so that adds up.

I could be wrong ofc, but considering what a pro tour domestique gets and the amount of races Bos wins you'd think he's not at minimum wage.

I wonder if anyone knows because it would seem ridiculosu to me. he hasn't won anything that any wt teams cares about and he's stagnated since season 1. I know dutch riders get overpaid tremendously in rabofail but this seems ridiculous.

Bos wins WT races, so even though your tremendous dislike of Rabo rubs of on him, even you can't deny most riders in the peloton simply never manage that on their whole career.

Then again, your amusing hate of Rabo which won more GT's than any other Belgian or Dutch team in recent history is not exactly based on facts, so let's chalk this up on bias.

Not just Dutch riders, I don't think. Graeme Brown is probably making a killing relative to his real worth.

Bos was rumored at at least 400K a couple years ago IIRC, but I can't find a source. It makes some sense, when you consider that their worst doms are easily as overpaid, if those rumors were true.

450k seems not that insane considering he already had a Rabo contract on the track, where he was absolute top and quite well known in the Netherlands (Rabo's primary market). If this was a continuation of the contract 450k seems to be expected. It should have fallen a bit though and it's questionable that happened^^. Then again, he wins a lot which is important for the team feeling. He also does manage to win a few WT stages.

I have no idea what would be a fair salary, but I'd imagine it's more in the 250K range than the sub 100k. He's hardly a super star, but he's way beyond domestique palmares. Hiring him is an almost guaranteed 10 wins, albeit second rate races.

I'd bet the salary problem is more in riders of Ten Dam and Kruijswijk than Bos.

Well, you call it Rabo fail and have a disproportinate hate towards them. The amusing thing is that considering Palmares wasn't the fail you think it is. Indeed they are only behind CSC and USPS in (ill-)gained GT wins.

I have a strong dislike towards Rabo, but it's not because they failed.. as palmares wise they were doing quite well indeed. I have moral issues about Dutch cycling.
