I can't recall if someone had already post this...

Oleg Tinkov @olegtinkov · Aug 1

i like Nico but he asked 2million, i can't

If people are saying 3mil for Sagan is a lot, what's the take on Roche asking for 2mil? It's Tinkov's tweeting so, how seriously can we take this number.. who knows..

He's certainty got a very high (and probably vastly overrated) opinion of himself if he's really asking for 2 million. Roche has barely even a chance to top 10 in most GT's. He's better off as a domestique for a top rider then he is a leader.

Hey, I don't make the rules.

We're not even their target audience.

Unfortunately so. But I guess advertising has always been about bottom feeding, and Sagan has shown himself plenty willing to act the clown for the sake of some attention... any attention is good, as long as it's being paid to him. And I really should have learnt by now to stop overestimating the taste of the general public.

Hopefully having a more disappointing year and a change of surroundings (preferably to one where he's no longer undisputed sole leader) can make him grow up a bit, like it did to Cavendish.

Ik know.Yeah but even with phonak he had his limits.... because he had to comply with the phonak board of directors.

Of course he has a positive influence for suisse cycling and its great what he does but it would be better for cycling if they dont become dependant on a mecenas.

Has someone has an idea of the revenue that BMC generates worldwide? They also sponsor suisse MTB cup and MTB riders etc.

the money was never coming from phonbak., it was comign directly from rihs self and he is a multi biollionaire

Au contraire mon ami. From what I recall all his great performances were as leader. Don't really remember him doing much special as a domestique. Maybe there are some performancws I can't remember though.

I don't like Tinkoff-Saxo, so i don't want Basso to join them. But on the other hand, that would mean Basso and Riis once again. Maybe we could witness the glorious return of RoboBasso

Why do you dislike Tinkoff-Saxo? Because of their owner? Personally I like Oleg. Just read his tweets, they are hilarious. :D
That alone makes me cheer for them. Only of course, if there is not Stepper in the mix...

2 million for Roche is ridiculous, it's a joke.

Anyway Kiserloski , Basso & EBH to Tinkoff Saxo along with 2 Sagans & Bodnar

And 5 Russians......

Tinkoff needed to make room

Dumping that useless AC maybe.

When was the last time he won the tour after all ?

EBH will be riding for himself. He and Sagan do not have to be targeting the same races. However if they are riding together and 1 jumps the group will have to respect/cover it. While the other sits in and can counter.

Were EBH and Cav on the tour simultainously also? Just wonder i they fit in a GC oriented squad.

edit. Kiserlovski would be a rather nice somewhat out of the bushes signing though.

Not sure signing Sagan or EBH are going to be for the Tour team. I think TS wants to put more power into the Classics team. Kiserlovski could be a strong dom on the Tour team. Probably the perfect replacement for Roche. At a lot less $?

Both Sagan & EBH could ride the tour but they would be riding for AC.
I could see Sagan hunting solo for green. And EBH super Dom at tour. Free to roam in the Classics.

Can't see why Sagan would take a deal anywhere close to this , it would be a choice for the (short-term) money and the money only. Boasson Hagen should only join Tinkoff if Sagan is not joining the team if he's actually looking to relaunch his career.

I feel like he was a good domestique though, esp. last year but I might be remembering it wrong. It's all a yellow and blue blur of Kreuziger, Rogers and Roche. Not sure if he really stood out among those three, in any case I don't remember him failing.

But as a leader I remember he never succeeded in fulfilling the expectations at Ag2R. That's why I think he should stay at Saxo, or in any case move to another team that has stronger riders than him (ironically, even without Betancur Ag2R now has a few of those). Because if he is one of the team leaders again like at Ag2R he will certainly fail to deliver, it's just too much pressure, and he's just not that good a rider. But on a team like Saxo, that has many other riders capable of achieving results, he has much less pressure and can actually achieve some very good results.
