Could be, but Kelderman doesn't have a better palmares than Gesink or Mollema at that age. Indeed Kruijswijk also was up there in results.

I have high hopes for Wilco, but it remains to be seen if he manages the level of Gesink or even improves upon it.

I think Kelderman will be a far better GC-rider than Gesink ever was.

Time will tell, but:

1. There's no indication he's better than Gesink at that age.
2. Gesink is hardly done as a pro.

It's anyone's guess really.

Sorry but the current top 3 for advertisers are Sagan, Spartacus and maybe the Shark but some may even prefer Jensie for their global campaign unless you are talking an Italian company.

So, it's not about national bias. It's about being natural to say such a thing in this kind of situation. Especially in Tinkov's case. That's the point, 'cause you're missing it by a large margin.
Whether it's correct assessment, only the time will tell. For now it's just an usual PR talk.

Perhaps, although Gesink was easily as good as Kelderman at that age. Probably better, as a climber at least.

It's good news for Belkin/Lotto that they've been able to keep Kelderman, without him things were looking a bit grim in terms of the future.

compared to their budget they are a fail team with bad results. how many classics have they won in the past 5 years?

no it's not. kelderman has a ton more talent than gesnik who was already top and past it after age 22. he came from rabo tt3 back when they already squeezed everything out of their youngsters

He became 5th in the Tour 2010, at the age of 24th. Or almost got podium in the Vuelta at age 23.

According your assumption he was already past his prime after 22 years. Could be, or not. You never know ofc. But mostly because of bad luck, the death of his father and the tons of pressure he had (and has) to deal with at young age.

That pressure will put on Kelderman's shoulders even more the coming years. Let's see if he is capable to deal with it. It's not as easy as you think.

Has this been posted yet? We pretty much already knew it was likely, but now is confirmed. EBH to leave Sky. MTN is one team he has talked with.

Honestly? He's getting older, not shown near the level that was expected from him in a team that has massively overachieved for what they should have done and there are other guys likely to beat him in any race he might target. I wouldn't be surprised to see him drop out of the WT. Which is a shame as I kind of like him.

I'm sure a lot of teams would think they could do with him what OGE did with Gerrans and he should come comparatively cheap

With the likes of Daniele Benatti, Matteo Tossato, Michael Morkov or Matti Breschel, the Russian team is already capable of providing the 24-year old Slovak with required support, but according to Tinkov they’re yet to announce several major arrivals for 2015 season, including significant strengthening to their classics unit.

So a couple more riders for the classics?

Clearly he hasn't been a match for Sky's methods in the last couple of years, and I'm sure there are lots of DS's out there feeling that they can get him back on track.

Gesink rode only one year for Rabo U23, like Mollema did. A bit too short to squeeze everything out of them, I guess.
