pikachu to tinkoff.
Nah, I think it was just Tinkov throwing out a name when french journos asked him if he could sign any french riders.

Vuillermoz prolonged his contract with AG2R before the Tour until 2018.

Very nice. It is the right decision anyway. At Tinkoff obviously he would've gotten a slightly bigger paycheck. At Ag2r however, he's not just an important domestique, but also get's free role for races he targets. Ag2r really has become the new big French team so far. Good to see cyclists like Pikachu wants to prolong that story together with Lavenu and Bardet! :)

I wonder how many of Coquard, Voeckler, Chavanel and Rolland AG2R will sign. Peraud looks horrible this season, so there could be room for Rolland.

Didn't Peraud crash in the spring? He was looking good in Criterium International where he beat Pinot on the MTF and won the overall.

He is getting old though.

@Bushman: the Criterium International win was pathetically unchallenged. The commentary was going mad that Pinot left his chase until the last minute (which kind of sums up Pinot's season too), and then Pinot couldn't even out-climb Fedrigo.

Little harsh on Pinot's season. His Tour didn't go as planned, but he's won the Queen stage of the Tour de Suisse, Tour of Romandie and the Tour de France. And he did drop Fedrigo at the Criterium International. He just made the mistake of trying to attack from 7km out and blowing up all his teammates before finding himself up against three Ag2r riders and not being able to follow every attack. Not to say it was a great performance from Peraud, but Ag2r raced it cleverly.

Would really surprise me that Clarke goes to BMC now the year after Evans stopped.

If Clarke could develop more at BMC he could become a good rider. He seems to have stagnated a bit at Orica but he has potential for the Ardennes, not as a leader but a super-Dom or 2nd leader.

I don't quite get the connection. Flakemore and Dennis are also there...

Coquard to Ag2r makes sense. They're the only major French team without a really good sprinter. Martin and Alaphilippe could be a killer 1-2 punch in the hilly classics. With Cav, Uran, and Kwia possibly/probably leaving it woud solidify Etixx as a clasics squad even more.

Clarke is the only friend Evans had in the peloton. They used to always train together in Italy where they both lived. Every summer I expected BMC to sign him but it never happened. And now it looks likely.

Thanks, although now I must ask: why wasn't Evans liked?

Loads of rumours in this article from the frontpage. Some we know, some we don't.

Porte to BMC, Landa, Kwia and Golas to Sky.
Uran to Movistar/Colombia or stay at Etixx
Dan Martin to Trek/Etixx/Sky or stay at Garmindale
Hesjedal to leave but not to Lampre
Pozzato to Tinkoff/Trek/Katusha
Guardini or Coquard may replace Modolo if he leaves Lampre
Coquard to IAM or Lampre
Cavendish to MTN/Trek/stay at Etixx
Santaromita to leave OGE

One of the main reasons was that he was a massive whiner in his pre-World Championship days, and would regularly insult or complain about the support he was getting, or his own team management. While it's true that he would often be isolated in the high mountains, the domestiques who were busting their ass for him didn't much appreciate being told they sucked and that was the reason Cuddles wasn't winning more often; especially at Lotto, the team brass who had to do a balancing act between the needs of Evans, the needs of McEwen and the needs of Hoste didn't appreciate Evans saying publicly that they were doing nothing to help him when they made a number of signings designed solely to assist him - but were hampered by a faulty crystal ball which meant that many of those signings were either disappointing (Popo, who was scared straight after Bileka was busted and was ineffective until reunited with Bruyneel where he felt more comfortable) or ineffective (Kohl, who never turned a pedal for them, and Dekker). They were still trying to help him at the point he left (signing Dani Moreno for 2010, who promptly had a quiet year as he was domestiquing in effect for nobody).

Don't forget Horner, who I thought actually did a good job, particularly that second year.
