Quite a blow for Cannondale. This team will never be the same if these rumours are true. In this case, they need to sign somebody like Uran really badly.

Thanks, although now I must ask: why wasn't Evans liked?
One of the main reasons was that he was a massive whiner in his pre-World Championship days, and would regularly insult or complain about the support he was getting, or his own team management. While it's true that he would often be isolated in the high mountains, the domestiques who were busting their ass for him didn't much appreciate being told they sucked and that was the reason Cuddles wasn't winning more often; especially at Lotto, the team brass who had to do a balancing act between the needs of Evans, the needs of McEwen and the needs of Hoste didn't appreciate Evans saying publicly that they were doing nothing to help him when they made a number of signings designed solely to assist him - but were hampered by a faulty crystal ball which meant that many of those signings were either disappointing (Popo, who was scared straight after Bileka was busted and was ineffective until reunited with Bruyneel where he felt more comfortable) or ineffective (Kohl, who never turned a pedal for them, and Dekker). They were still trying to help him at the point he left (signing Dani Moreno for 2010, who promptly had a quiet year as he was domestiquing in effect for nobody).
Don't forget Horner, who I thought actually did a good job, particularly that second year.
In fairness to Lotto though, Horner wasn't one that they screwed up so much as, given he went to Hog-Astana and they recruited Popo from Discovery, they effectively traded Horner and a 2nd round draft pick to Astana in exchange for Popovych and Bileka, who was basically to Popo what Jesús Hernández is to Contador. Popo had a good early season, with the Paris-Nice podium, and some talk he could have won it if Evans had helped him out more. But after Bileka went positive, Popo's results disappeared, and also perhaps because of that Paris-Nice performance he didn't seem all that willing to turn himself inside out for Evans either.

I'd be upset too if after finishing 4th 4 minutes back in the Tour Cioni would be all the extra help I was getting.

With Visconti Astanas giro team next year will be almost boringly overpowered. Nibali can do it at 80% and go for the yellow jersey a month later :p

Like it was mentioned before, Visconti extended his contract through 2016 last August, so the only way this could happen is if Astana bought him out of that. ;)

If Sky buys out Landa before La Vuelta no problemo.

Let's see what happens.

Have heard from someone with good knowledge of BMC that the Simon Clarke move is a done deal

With Porte there now it seems like he is definitely going. BMC building up its Aussie contingent.

He would fit perfectly in that considering his style, but does he speak english?[/quote]

as Inrng says, neil Stephens in an adopted Basque and will take care of him, many Orica riders live in Spain and speak Spanish, and Chaves speaks Spanish too.

How sure is it that Intxausti is going to Sky? OGE should be looking at him if they are after Basque riders. That article above said that they wanted Bilbao but he had a year on his contract I think? So maybe they have looked at Intxausti?

That would be a good pick up for Orica. Adam and Simob Yates, Chaves, Weening, Intxausti and Txurukka isn't a bad squad to go for GC in a grand tour.

I remember Intxausti during the TdF on spanish television when he said that his #1 choice would still be to resign with Movistar, but things may have changed since then I haven't heard anything about him the last few days.

OGE has 3 young AUS riders joining for 2016; Jack Haig, Robert Power & Alex Edmondson. Haig & Power are regarded as climbing talent and I believe Haig may be riding the remainder of 2015 for OGE as a stagiare. Edmondson has a track background & is currently part of the AUS Teams Pursuit so part of his 2016 will be diverted in that direction but he did win this year's junior RVV which may be some pointer towards his career direction.

Clarke moving on is not a massive surprise for whilst he's been an excellent team contributor; his opportunities for personal opportunities has been largely limited by the presence of many riders at OGE with similar puncheur characteristics such as Gerrans, Albasini & to a degree Impey plus the development of the Yates twins.

Txurukka ?? Interesting. He showed early talent but has never really kicked on. Chaves may be Spanish speaking but he seems to have developed reasonable English skills if the evidence of the Backstage Pass clips is anything to go by. He certainly seems to have gelled well with the team ethos & vibe. A majority of the international riders (Albasini, Impey, Keukeleire, Weening, Tuft, Meier and it would appear the Yates twins & Chaves) HAVE really gelled well with this team and have thrived; but some like Santaromita haven't.

Instead of getting in breaks, Txurruka can now help control them for Gerrans. I can't think of a single person who will be unhappy with this scenario.
