OGE will be a good fit for Taaramae, wonder if that is one of the two teams he's got offers from.

I also had the same thought regarding Taaramae.

Why so ?? He's not likely to ride high GC & it's not as if he's a top rank domestique. He's been a national TT champion but that does not equate to being elite in any way.

I'm struggling to see just what he would "bring to the table" to make him a particularly worthwhile signing.

WT one week stage races, along with a stagehunting role at GT's.

He won ONE GT stage four years ago but there hasn't been a result in a WT race since. There was a 2nd at Tour of Turkey but whilst it's a good race, you never see the major climbers present.

They've already got a number of riders fitting the bill you stated and at this stage we don't know whether the likes of the Yates or Chaves will ever be more than that. The likes of Gerrans, Impey, Albasini can bring in these results as is. WHY taken on another when he doesn't clearly strengthen the team in ANY key facet ?

If he was going at "bargain basement" price, then there may be a case for considering him on a 1 year deal but that's about it. I wouldn't throw good $$$ at him.

He has a winner's instinct and the talent to win. Most teams without clear leaders such as Froome or Kittel would love to have a rider who can get them around 5 wins a year. Another factor is that he could still improve his performances.

Betancur to Movistar.

I don't know about this one yet. Probably won't be on a monster salary after all the "downs" he had. If he somehow regains his 2013/2014 form... YAY... if he doesn't, i guess this will turn out to be a JJ Cobo 2.0 for Movistar.

Either way, Lavenu is probably happy that this case is now (as good as) closed. :D
I think more that he'll be a cut-price flyer like Rujano was in 2008 than the complete anonymity of Cobo 2012. Rujano had had a couple of chronic years but was a bit more solid with Caisse d'Epargne without really threatening to show his previous skills. He was 4th to Pampeago and 6th in the Kronplatz TT in the Giro, 2nd in the Klausenpass TT in the Tour de Suisse and 6th in the Deutschlandtour - so there were glimpses of the great rider he was capable of being without really becoming the rider he had been and not doing any of the main races that the big leaders of the team were doing, and that's what I would be expecting of Bananito at Movistar.

Rolland is leaving from Europcar : http://www.biciciclismo.com/es/pierre-rolland-cambia-de-aires-necesitaba-un-nuevo-impulso-23-08-2015?loc=

Names Cannondale-Garmin, IAM, Trek and Lampre as options.

If I was him, I'd go for IAM. Better shot at leadership with Frank than being the less celebrated partner of Costa or Mollema.

I think IAM is not likely to happen as they got rid of some riders (Chavanel one of them) for a change of focus towards sprinting, which I found it weird when I read it.

The Gazzetta reportedly also links Merhawi Kudus (MTN-Qhubeka) to Movistar

I guess given his characteristics as a cyclist, it would be somewhat of a nice fit. Can climb and still has an unknown amount of upside at age 21.

From a cultural point of view though, this to me is a weird move and hard to imagine. An african rider at Movistar, well i guess (in case this is true) there is a first time to everything :) :D

I think it would be great. An interesting fit, but I'd love that move.

Alberto Gallego to Caja Rural.

Yes!

I'm hoping that Caja Rujal DS wont bash him for being too strong, just like José Santos did :D
He didn't bash him for being too strong, he bashed him for trying to use them and not dropping everything to work like a mule for the reanimated corpse of a Milaneza fossil who clearly didn't have the legs.

Yep, you're right. That was a bit clumsy metaphor by me and I also forgot to add that Rui Horner -part of the story. Anyway, good deal.

The contract of yesterday's winner, Chaves, with OGE concludes at the end of this season. As yet, no news either way as to whether he'll re-sign or look elsewhere. Will yesterday's showing spark further "outside interest" ?

In fairness, there are good indications that he has gelled rather well with the OGE team ethos & atmosphere & that he's valued at the team and it may well be that he is best served for the present staying where he is rather than going to another team where he's likely to be just a climbing "grunt". But who knows what may be offered and/or the $$$

Diego Rubio (1991) also to Caja Rural.

The green team is doing a great work this last years in developing and giving opportunities to young spanish talent whilst they climb up in the Continental rankings (16 victories this year).

After Vino's public criticism during the Tour, Nibali went up to Froome and cracked a joke about joining Sky next year. Sounds crazy but I bet they'd make him an offer if his contract was terminated or something.

Was set to join at one point and I'm sure Pinarello would be willing to help. Long shot at best but this tour team would be beyond ridiculous:

Froome, Nibali, Henao, Thomas, Poels, Kwait, Golas, Vichot, Stannard

Then there's the added benefit of this jersey in the peloton:

Is Vichot going to Sky? He was immense in Paris-Nice 2014 but got injured afterwards and disappointed me a little ever since. Even though this year in Paris-Nice he wasn't bad as well.

I actually think that Sky Italian jersey sucks, and reminds me of Radioshack-Leopard Trek. Like Pozzato's one that they made him change, it's neither a tricolore nor flag bands, and elects to be half of one and half of the other; nor is it a Sky jersey with Italian colours integrated, because Sky don't do the Leopard-style black and white for that to be the case.

But it still sucks approximately 400x less than his Astana Italian jersey. And Visconti's Movistar one.
