Good for medal in Olympics. therefore good publicity for Trekdirkprovin said:42x16ss said:Give him a chance. He's had a better year overall this year, and from all reports he's got his arthritis more or less under control. Apparently his home life is much more settled too as well.dirkprovin said:Elegant Degenerate said:Ricco' said:Jack Bobridge going to Trek.
Good to see. He's too good not to be WT - even with track commitments. Yet to see his best.
Disagree![]()
Given his health issues with rheumatoid arthritis; he's only going to have limited spells of "effectiveness" and his race program therefore is likely to be limited. There is the possibility of maybe 1-2 decent results but given his history they're likely to be few and far between.
In any case, for next year much of it will be taken up with track preparations for the Teams Pursuit in Rio.
There is no doubting his ability but given what's known about his limitations I'm just not seeing him as particularly good value for money.
Bobridge's showings at TDU and the North American races showed that there's still something to offer. He'll never be a great GT domestique but has the engine for classics and 1 week races though. Also, he may have some form of personal sponsorship happening that allows this to happen, his profile in Aus is big enough.
Those have been his only showings of note since 2011. There is no doubting that he has the capacity for the odd international class performance on the road however, given his limitations they are likely to be very well "spaced out" through the year and his race miles distinctly limited.
My comment regarding his value for money is NOT a personal "knock" on Bobridge but rather a dispassionate assessment of what he's likely to bring to the table for a WT team.

Anyone already mentioned the transfer of Simone Consonni to Lampre Merida?
Besides Lampre, also FDJ, Etixx, Orica, Cannondale and Katusha already signed a few neo's. I am very wondered about the possible signings for teams like Lotto Soudal, BMC, Giant and Ag2r. Because they usually sign a few neo's too. Anyone who has any info? a possible site or link for new neo's? or just some rumours?

“Honestly, not joking, for North American guys, a good social media presence brings value,” Britton said. “People know your name. I think results should speak louder than that, but I think that’s kind of the reality of the world we live in now. It’s not just results, it’s what value you can bring value to the team. And for that, having an awesome Twitter or Instagram account is pretty handy."

In which races other than the Giro do you think he will lead the team? Pais Vasco for sure. Also Giro del Trentino. But what more?
As far as I know, Nieve is considering offers from Tinkoff and Movistar. He hasn't chosen yet, as far as I'm awareMovitrain said:Ugh... Well, that was predictable, though I am a little disappointed.
With Nieve appearently heading to Tinkoff, there isn't all that much left for Movistar.![]()
I hope their roster takes shape soon as well, even though Unzué is always a bit more patient.![]()
