Jack Bobridge going to Trek.

Good to see. He's too good not to be WT - even with track commitments. Yet to see his best.

Disagree

Given his health issues with rheumatoid arthritis; he's only going to have limited spells of "effectiveness" and his race program therefore is likely to be limited. There is the possibility of maybe 1-2 decent results but given his history they're likely to be few and far between.

In any case, for next year much of it will be taken up with track preparations for the Teams Pursuit in Rio.

There is no doubting his ability but given what's known about his limitations I'm just not seeing him as particularly good value for money.
Give him a chance. He's had a better year overall this year, and from all reports he's got his arthritis more or less under control. Apparently his home life is much more settled too as well.

Bobridge's showings at TDU and the North American races showed that there's still something to offer. He'll never be a great GT domestique but has the engine for classics and 1 week races though. Also, he may have some form of personal sponsorship happening that allows this to happen, his profile in Aus is big enough.

Those have been his only showings of note since 2011. There is no doubting that he has the capacity for the odd international class performance on the road however, given his limitations they are likely to be very well "spaced out" through the year and his race miles distinctly limited.

My comment regarding his value for money is NOT a personal "knock" on Bobridge but rather a dispassionate assessment of what he's likely to bring to the table for a WT team.
Good for medal in Olympics. therefore good publicity for Trek

RIP Europcar, forever in our hearts. Any team sporting a Colnago with Campagnolo deserves respect.

that's the most interesting side of the news:

will Campagnolo and Colnago (and Louis Garneau which is a very nice brand) be around in 2016 too?

2015 was already a step forward, Voeckler and many other had those nice Oakleys. let's hope they continue

Good news from Direct Energy!

Anyone already mentioned the transfer of Simone Consonni to Lampre Merida?

Besides Lampre, also FDJ, Etixx, Orica, Cannondale and Katusha already signed a few neo's. I am very wondered about the possible signings for teams like Lotto Soudal, BMC, Giant and Ag2r. Because they usually sign a few neo's too. Anyone who has any info? a possible site or link for new neo's? or just some rumours?

Yes.

Direct Energie team news.

(Giovanni) Bernaudeau is retiring.

Sylvain Chavanel (IAM), Adrien Petit (Cofidis), Romain Cardis, Lilian Calmejane, Fabien Grellier, and Jérémy Cornu (all Vendee U) have signed.

Voeckler, Naulleau, Tulik, Quemeneur, Jeandesboz, Morice, Sicard and Coquard have all been re-signed.

Edit: and the team is aiming for 20 riders (what happens if they're allowed into WT?)

Modolo stays at Lampre.

Good for Lampre. The loss of Bonifazio wasn't too clever (especially for an Italian team) but the signing of Meintjes is probably the coup of the transfer season so far.

I wonder where this leaves Etixx in terms of sprinters (assuming they don't re-sign Cav). Surely Gaviria, as talented as he is, isn't enough for next year for them in the sprint department. I suppose Boonen/Meersman/Trentin provide an option in smaller races but certainly not for the big bunch sprints in WT races.

As the squad stands right now it's very unbalanced, given that's it's absolutely stacked for the classics and very weak for the Grand Tours. I know that's typical of Lefevere but even so, what would be their focus for say, the Tour de France, with the squad they have right now? Obviously they're not short of stage hunters but is that really enough for Bakala given the size of the team's budget?

Would Phil Gaimon really help Cannondale sell more bikes? (Honest question)

Looks like it.

Also, from a horse's mouth:

“Honestly, not joking, for North American guys, a good social media presence brings value,” Britton said. “People know your name. I think results should speak louder than that, but I think that’s kind of the reality of the world we live in now. It’s not just results, it’s what value you can bring value to the team. And for that, having an awesome Twitter or Instagram account is pretty handy."

might make up som rumours :)

Kiryienka to Astana
Nordhaug to FDJ
Knees to Giant
CA Sörensen to Astana
Zaugg to IAM
ten Dam to Astana

Formolo to Astana
Vilella to Androni

D. Wyss to IAM
Gretsch to Giant
Agnoli to Lampre

Ugh... Well, that was predictable, though I am a little disappointed.

With Nieve appearently heading to Tinkoff, there isn't all that much left for Movistar. :(

I hope their roster takes shape soon as well, even though Unzué is always a bit more patient. :p

As far as I know, Nieve is considering offers from Tinkoff and Movistar. He hasn't chosen yet, as far as I'm aware :)
