Does anyone have an idea if Louis Meintjies has any offers on the table from teams for 2016? MTN is out at the end of the year and although they have potential title sponsor in the works its not certain.
I can't imagine the team not continuing and meintjes with them

Kwait has an offer from Sky but wants to stay with Etixx. Would guess it depends on EQS's budget for next year as I assume Cav, Martin, Boonen, Kwait and Uran are not cheap.

Well that hardly bodes well for going to SKY since he has said he would prefer another team. Dave Brailsford won't be pleased
there was never any proof that kwiat was going to sky except the hilarious forummembers here who think every year all great riders sign with sky except it never happens

Tinkoff invited Dutch rider Antwan Tolhoek for a training meetup this summer. Any information about his characteristics?

A former marathon speedskater who decribes himself as a climber/hilly rider. He won the KOM in this years Tour of Bretagne.
That sounds promising! :)

They invited quiet a lot of young riders not just Tolhoek, his teammate Tusveld is also invited for example

I wouldn't be surprised if OGE is one of those who makes an offer. Even if he is not a real GT GC contender, he will strengthen their climbing ranks and possesses reasonable (at min) TT ability. Whilst his background is Afrikaner, an English language squad would probably be an easier fit and OGE already has an experienced South African amongst it's senior echelon of riders.

I feel like MTN will do their best to keep Meintjes in the team. However if he does move to World Tour, Orica is a good choice as mentioned above.

The team will more than likely continue just not with MTN as sponsor. Dimension Data who have come on as a co-sponsor for TDF may fill the spot left by MTN not sure if the total budget though. Cervelo and Rotor had to put in substantial funding for this year.

Kwiatkowski making public not only the offer but his preference of Etixx-QS over Sky is strange. Why not just tell Lefevre in private for leverage? Now if EQS decides that Alaphilipe is the way forward, then Kwiatkowski may be stuck at a team that he's already panned in public.

Weird.

Kwia is a young guy.
Hardly an expert in negotiations at this point.

And perhaps something was lost in translation too.

Lol. Did Kwiatkowski get a "Can [cyclist's name] win the Tour?" thread after his worlds win? I remember when those were all the rage any time a cyclist successfully got out of bed in the morning.

Lefevre said more than once that he doesn't believe in Kwia for GC in le Tour...not for the moment and the coming years

No, the reason he would like to stay becos of familiar setup, people, friends, food, preferences
At Sky, it would be different which would be distracting and time consuming and maybe no guaranteed tdf.
It is the reason why many choose to stay at their current teams like Kristoff, Contador
For Lefevre though he does not want too many Ardennes contenders with Alaphillipe.

But he said nothing about climbing. I think he meant it in general and he is right. Boonen/Terpstra/Stybar need helpers for cobbles, Rigo needs help in the mountains and Cav needs a train. Movistar just goes all out for climbers. EQS wants to be strong everywhere and so some stars might not get the help they would get in other teams.

I would actually like Kwiatkowski to go to Sky.
He hasn't progressed in terms of pure strenght for a while. This season is especially subpar.
Plus Sky has a good team for support in Ardennes and decent for cobbles where he could be co-leader with Thomas.

I think he needs a change in scenery to make another step in his progression

I also think a move to Sky would be the best for him, but he wants to be the leader above all things, in Sky he would only lead in the Ardennes. What other teams would be good for him?

Jvdb not to Orica is 100% sure now. Told you he should be lucky to get a WT contract for next year.

I imagine Orica will have a shot at getting Porte if he is leaving Sky, add in Meintjes as well and it is getting to be okay in climbing.

Trek is looking for GC men and climbers to support Mollema. Seems a fit.

That seems like a good choice for Van Den Broeck, he might improve with a new team as he's stagnated with Lotto. Could get a few GC chances for himself in other stage races as well.
