Well, the "back at Lotto" suggests that he is talking about Lotto Soudal, structure where Horner has been in the past.

Sergeant said last year already that Horner was offered to the team but that he refused to sign him given his age so would wonder why did would sign him now
And given the great season the team has had this year why would they want to go backwards? It doesn't make much sense unless they get him for free.

Maybe cause Soudal wants an American rider?

the only BMC rider with a contract for 2016 is Loic Vliegen

all the others just have a deal for 2016, even Porte.

(I was wondering about the future of Rohan Dennis...)

BMC just announced on Twitter that they have given Floris Gerts a contract for next year. Think he deserves it, had a really good season and some nice results as a stagaire.

Did Lotto Jumbo let Lijke go and signed older rider with even worse results in Twan Castelijns..where is the logic? I mean why..

I know Van der Lijke wanted to leave because he figures he'll get to ride more for his own chances at Roompot, which he is right about I assume. Castelijns could be a useful domestique, he is a reasonable tt'er and has done well this season, I think he deserves a chance for a year at least before writing him off as a bad signing.

Van der lijke wants more freedom. Castelijns is a rider with a great engine, he will surprise most of the people next year with lotto jumbo and he is the top dutchman rider in the amateur level winning the Topcompetitie, he deserves this opportunity.

Leigh Howard to IAM (rumour)
Hopefully they can get him on track, that lad is wasting a lot of talent.

Less than you think. On the track, he didn't quite cut it as a teams pursuiter and whilst he does have multiple medals from the madison; it was primarily Meyer making the major moves.

Why hasn't he made the grade on the road; is it just not being fast enough or is there a mental side to it ? Hard to say. Prior to this season, he WAS given opportunities to sprint in major races and to say he "didn't make the most of it" is a major understatement.

Like Goss, he seems to be one who when its not going his way they tend to "drop their bundle and crack the mopes". His tendency to get tailed off the pack when the pace is raised has lessened his value as a lead-out man.

IF this IAM rumour is proven right then I hoe they can make something of him. Otherwise he will be joining M. Harley Goss in life outside the pro peleton.

Howard was very good at U23/NRS level and a World Champ in the Omnium at 19. Yes Meyer made the major moves in their Madison pairing but Howard was a constant accumulator of points in sprints whereas Meyer had to make a major move stick, he couldn't grind out a win with his sprint.

Howard was also solid in his two years at HTC, performing at the level expected of a 20/21 yo on their first contract, he just went AWOL at Orica. I suspect that he may have gotten complacent, like Goss, Bobridge and Sulzberger before him, who all went backwards in their time with Orica.

With regards to being Omnium World Champion; whilst not to be sneezed at those WERE the very early days of the event.

At HTC, yes he DID look mildly promising but he was a long way down the "pecking order" at the team and not exactly racing against the "big boys" too often. With regards to "complacency"; a correct call re M. Harley but less sure it fits Bobridge & Sulzberger. Its arguable whether the latter was ever really World Tour class. With Bobridge, he DID "blot his copybook" in a big way with some partying & high-jinks (including the incident w Hepburn) but his subsequent record at Belkin/revealing of his health issues have borne out that success on the road is likely to be very spasmodic at best.

Wesley Sulzberger is quite a useful domestique, if he was at FDJ still he could have rode a TDF to protect Pinot on the flats.

Nocentini and Capecchi are leaving their teams. Davide Viganò to Androni. Geert van der Weijst of 3M is retiring at 25. Gianfranco Zilioli to Nippo.

That was sort of expected that Capecchi would leave. I don't know what happened to him. He's been invisible this year.
