Glad Sutton has gone as he has done nothing in recent memory but they are lacking in the classics department.

Agreed. In a way his tale is a more tragic one than EBH's: he goes from beating Greipel at the 2010 TDU and Kittel, Degenkolb and Farrar at the 2011 Vuelta and Greipel and Farrar at 2011 KBK, to taking fairly ineffectual pulls at the Tour de Yorkshire. I wondered if he got complacent since he's related to Shane Sutton, but clearly he didn't have a job for life.

Edit 1: Also it's kind of a historic moment: Sutton took Sky's first pro win, the aforementioned TDU stage in 2010. (although Greg Henderson won the pre-TDU charity criterium thing).

Edit 2: with Earle and Porte going too, Sky now have no Australians!

Golas is also a road captain:
Plus as a climber he can stay with Froome longer.

Golas is not in any way a climber. He can hang on the short hills, but that's about it.
Siutsou and Zandio however, are. Not that Zandio's much good anymore.

Mohoric joins Lampre.

He's very very young, but so far he's been disappointing to me.
I don't expect results from someone that young especially as he's used as a domestique, but with his u-23 and junior pedigree I would expect some flashes of quality here or there.

An interesting breakaway, or even just an upward trend in his finishing positions, but neither have happened so far.

Anybody who know where Moreno will end up next year?

What about IAM? They don't have a strong guy for the Ardennes and they need another GC man for the Grand Tours. He could focus on being the team leader in the Giro and Vuelta while Frank rides the Tour.

Daniel?
Signed for Movistar this week, says the usually reliable Biciciclismo.

See above, there's been some discussion on that.

Surprised to see Siutsou going. I wonder if he wanted to leave himself or if Sky didn't want to extend or if they just couldn't come to a mutual agreement. I'd have liked him to stay. Of the teams mentioned above, I'd rather have him go to Giant than Tinkoff.
I've been expecting Zandio to retire every year since about 2012, what's happening here?
Maybe Siutsou is retiring, but I suppose we would have heard a little more about that if that was the case. His Worlds display could point either way: he's trying to get a new contract or he's trying to go out with a bang.

Sivtsov looks like a must sign for Tinkoff to me.

Oleg may be interested. There is already a lot of Italians on his team.

Basso is like a brother/father to Formolo. Would not surprise me at all if he signs for Tinkoff.
Those would be good signings for Tinkoff, but I bet they won't sign anyone  do they even have enough riders for next season

According to PCS they have 23.

Biciciclismo came with an interesting article today, saying that Oleg doesn't know if he wants to support the team from 2017 onwards. And according to PCS only the Sagans and Majka have a contract in 2017. Either Blythe and Trofimov only signed for a year.

I think he acts as a mentor to the teams spanish riders, which is why I expected him to hop in a team car and be Landa's DS this year.

Dumb move to let Siutsou go :( I'm happy that "the road captain"is leaving, strange that they preferred to renew Zandio and let go Sutton.I suppose Landa might have something to do with this.

I doubt they just decided to not offer Siutsou a contract. One of the Russian squads or Astana has probably offered him more than Sky were willing to.

Earle - hard to see what his role was going to be in the team. Definitely not a potential leader and not a strong domestique either.

Sutton - Should probably have left a couple of years ago.

Eisel - Right time for him to leave. The likes of Rowe have taken over his role in the team.

Pate - He had a better year than Zandio and some of his recent ITT's showed he was still pretty strong so he probably feels a bit hard done by. Still he was going to be 37 next year and hadn't done a GT this year so it was probably time for him to leave.
