Any news on Fabio Silvestre? Most internet sites have him as retiring, which I assume is mostly based on the article that @BigMac quoted a while ago, where he said he contemplated retirement.

Recently got a podium in Hainan, but again completely on his own as Trek sent yet another joke team...

Strange move I think, yes the guy is talented but he is so young and he has barely any experience racing on the road. He did 1 roadrace in Italy and just a few roadraces in Colombia, why not do a year as an U23 first get some more experience and get a step up to the pro level?
Anyway I wish him all the best and I think he can become a very good rider but I would have liked to see him ride a full year on the road as an U23 first.

Hmm Colombia-Coldeportes recently went in a swivet. Now Savio suddenly signs a young Colombian again!?

As much as he mainly took the money from the Venezuelans. Back in the mid zeros he did a decent job with Colombia-Selle Italia team. Although the divorce wasn't nice, his current team lacks results, budget and good riders in the past seasons.

Any chance that a reunion actually would be in the interest of both parties!?

I don't know, just look at the drama between Savio and the Venezuelan federation and the Venezuelan riders not getting any results in europe (ok, that could be clinic related problems), I don't know if he still has a decent reputation in Colombia. I guess he wouldn't be worse than Corti.

That's actually what I thought what the Colombians might think as well. :D

They know what to force from him and where he's probably worth his money, then.

He could improve his budget and get back access too a currently more than decent talent pool.

We'll see or we won't see I guess.

Interesting thing at Cannondale:
2 Americans (Danielson, Ted King) leaving, 2 joining (Craddock, Gaimon)
1 Australian (Haas) leaving, 1 joining (Clarke)
1 Canadian (Hesjedal) leaving, 1 joining (Woods)
1 Irish (Martin) leaving, 1 joining (Mullen)
1 Colombian (Acevedo) leaving, 1 joining (Uran)
1 Danish (Hansen) leaving, 1 joining (Breschel)

Are they maintaining riders of the same nationality purposedly, or is it just a funny coincidence?

Team Hincapie becomes Holowesko | Citadel Racing Team presented by Hincapie Sports.

Also, Skujiņš is definitely leaving, according to his Instagram.

Gatto to Tinkoff
:(

Don't worry, we all know very well how much you dislike Sagan & Tinkov so no reasons to waste forum space with angry favicons.

And yes, I do like the Cat's move to Tinkov :D
I like Oscar Gatto and am disappointed that he makes a move where he basically becomes a domestique for anyone, before we get to my stance on Sagan.

Do you shut down negative talk on Gerrans, Valverde or Froome too, or are they ok to criticize? It's just it seems it's open season to slag off those guys and nobody bats an eyelid, but if you post negatively on Sagan, you get what feels like an avalanche of aggressive posts in response about how this negativity is pathetic, petty and destroying the forum.

It's a bit disappointing for Daniel Schorn, as he started as a decent sprinter with NetAPP, then has been invisible in the last few seasons.

He just didn't develop into a fast enough sprinter, and the team brought in the likes of Bennett and Bauhaus. At this stage, Schorn would be behind some of Bennett's lead out men, notably Archbold, in the pecking order. There's not much use in being the fourth or fifth fastest sprinter on a ProConti team.

It's a tough world out there for 27 year old sprinters who haven't won a race in five years. If he wants to continue as a pro, he'll probably have to reinvent himself as some kind of domestique or break away rider.

Josh Edmondson joins NFTO

Interesting to see if they get more than ten weeks out of him.

10 weeks? Those were the days. The most UCI race days any NFTO rider had was Ian Bibby's 24. The majority had under 10 days, several had 3 or fewer. Edmondson had 35 race days, but one must take into account the fact he was only signed in mid-March and hasn't ridden since June because of injury. At NFTO he will spend his time doing joke criteriums. Unless they actually make the much hyped move up to pro conti, but it seems unlikely since we've heard nothing about that for months.

Rodolfo Torres goes to Androni.

It's still a good squad in terms of calendar: he can ride Trentino, Giro, perhaps Tirreno and a bunch of Italian/French races. And apart from Pelizotti, they don't have a lot of climbers/GC guys who can actually win a race. He's even the best climber.

But i rather have seen him with IAM or Lampre. But perhaps he can move to the WT next year if he progresses.

At Lampre he probably would ride most races as a domestique and he probably prefered an Italian or a Spanish team because of the mentality/language barrier, but otherwise IAM would have been a good team for him, they already have a Colombian rider with Pantano, he wouldn't have been the only one. He should get enough chances to ride for himself at Androni and a good calender, it's a good team for him.

Androni is a good squad for both Colombians. And we don't have as bad feelings for Savio as we have for Corti. With good Colombians He has had good results in the past. Better than what they have now.

Procyclingstats now also has Skujins to Cannondale for 2016 and it looks like Cannondale will have full, 30 riders roster. Kinda surprising considering the fact they only had 27 after this year's merge. Looks like increased budget to me.
