After Serpa, Santaromita and Beltran found teams, I make it that the only WT guys without contracts for 2016 are Vandewalle, Kamyshev Dyachenko, Bulgac, Schelling, D.Vanendert, Sutton, Flens, Lancaster, Sanz, Delage, Pozzato (probably going to Southeast) Anton and Nocentini (reported interest from Lampre/IAM/Caja Rural).

Anyone heard any other rumours on these guys?

Schelling was/is in negotiations with a german proconti team and a german conti team. But that was in mid october...

Stefan Schumacher has retired. Ivan Santaromita joins Skydive Dubai. Serpa joins Orgullo Antioqueno.

Wasn't he linked to Astana?
He was quoted in October saying that Nibali wanted him at Astana but I don't think Nibali has the pull at Astana as he used to have so yeah, Santaromita might have been chasing a place that he was never going to get

I thought Lancaster was retiring after failing to secure a contract?

Schumacher has un-retired and has now joined Team Stuttgart.

Also Christian Delle Stelle has left CCC.

That is the word, he'll probably turn up as a DS somewhere in a few years.

Nocentini last week said on his Facebook page that he will unveil next year plan during a dinner with the fanclub in Arezzo the 5th of december.

The way I understood it a part of the problem was etc

For sure no one cares but here is what I think fwiw. Those guys on your list are young and yet to be discovered so they might still not fail. My whole thing is that there is no pattern, just individual stories like the biographies of the riders mentioned above proves. Some guys don't make it (whatever you think that means) for diverse reasons but not more so than in other countries. Make lists of talented cyclists from Belgium, France and Russia ten years ago who are not stars now instead. Also the list of name above (not yours RHD) was incredibly factually incorrect. I'd listen if people come w facts that support a systemic explanation but no one does.

Isn't the problem that the Danes are hothoused from an early age meaning an ok talent looks super good there because he'll be given all the benefits of pro training etc. A similarly talented kid in another country will look poor in comparison.

But it's not like that. If this was the case how does it work? What sort of special conditions and training could they possibly have that other nations don't have? The u23 national team only have funds to go to one or two stage races outside of the Nations Cup each year. They might have less opportunities than other nations, in particular US and Australian riders who stay in Europe for months during the season as early as juniors.

Nocentini still waiting for call from Caja-Rural
meanwhile he has been training in Tenerife
Why would he ride for Caja-Rural? I don't get it. He said that he wanted to target the Ardennes and Giro, that's not safe with C-J.

Should have ridden for IAM or Lampre instead. IAM for own chances or Lampre for the language.

He'd ride for Caja Rural because he turns 39 next season, hasn't won a race in five years and doesn't have a great deal of choice in the matter.

Everybody who signed for Dynamo Cover is now seeking a new ride, since the team has folded before inception, according to this pretty vitriolic article.

If that' article is correct it's going to cause mayhem in the Irish domestic scene. Maybe this won't be the year where every Cat 1 in Ireland ends up with a Conti ride after all.

On a slightly related note, Damien Shaw, the 30 year old firefighter who is the Irish RR champion, has apparently signed with An Post. This has to mean a pay cut, as compared to his "real" job. In fact, a few weeks ago, some of us were saying on this thread that he's the kind of rider who probably wouldn't take a low paid semi-pro ride over the decent money he makes in the non-cycling world. It will be interesting to see how he does - he only took up cycling as a keep fit hobby in his mid to late 20s. He's one of the rare cases where somebody happened to have the physiology to be a pretty good pro but never pushed a pedal in anger until he was way past the appropriate age. As somebody who also took up cycling as a keep fit hobby way past the age when it could be anything more than that but who doesn't have any appreciable talent anyway, I'll be living vicariously though his exploits all year.

Is there any word on Malcolm Rudolph (Drapac)? He's down as leaving the team and has said he wants to go to a Euro Pro Conti team but nothing is listed. He's a decent rouleur that could be picked up fairly cheap and wants to get away from the Asian circuit.
