According to Giant on twitter 2 exciting contract announcements later today.

Could it be Kelderman and Clement??

They're not talking about new riders. Could be 2 contract extensions. Sponsor contract was extended through 2019, so I wouldn't be surprised if Tom Dumoulin has extended his contract for an extra year. Timing.

ok, fair enough but
"Stay tuned; we've got two exciting contract announcements to share later today! "

For me that could be anything from 2 new riders to 2 contract renewals.
and considering that they announce 2 guys renewing yesterday might just be 2 new signings?
They only have (according to Procyclingstats) Curvers, F.Ludvigsson and ten Dam without contract for 2017

Yeah nice to see haussler riding wt next year! But kämna? Not sure if that is the best for him.
Why not, Barguil had a great start as a pro with them and they seem to be a team that's good at developing young riders. Kämna is a thin and rather light guy (181cm tall and 65kg heavy) with a monster engine, he bossed the 2014 junior ITT WC and finished 3rd in the 2015 U23 TT WC durning his first year as an U23 rider, while having bad luck with the weather (the earlier starters had an advantage).
Kämna probably just needs a team that knows how to work with young riders, Bora would have been another good option, but they already have a ton of young, German speaking gc and climbing prospects.

A reminder of how to treat transfer rumours.

Kwait has an offer from Sky but wants to stay with Etixx. Would guess it depends on EQS's budget for next year as I assume Cav, Martin, Boonen, Kwait and Uran are not cheap.

Well that hardly bodes well for going to SKY since he has said he would prefer another team. Dave Brailsford won't be pleased
there was never any proof that kwiat was going to sky except the hilarious forummembers here who think every year all great riders sign with sky except it never happens

That's more an example of how to treat Ryo, surely.

This has to be one of the most active transfer windows ever!

Trek, Giant, Orica, Canondale have all gained significant sponsors. Lampre, Iam and Tinkoff are disappearing from the world tour. Bora and Bahrain are coming into the world tour.

2/4 of the big GC riders have moved + so many other top riders!
Only a few teams like Sky, Movistar and BMC are being relatively quiet in the market.
But so many other teams are signing great riders!

Can't wait for next season despite how confusing it will be initially.

This sounds messy

If, as reported, the Bahrain Merida team takes over the Lampre Merida WorldTour license then all contracted riders at Lampre Merida for 2017 would transfer to the Bahrain Merida squad for the start of next season.
I thought the team would just take over Merida as a sponsor with Lampre moving down to ProConti. There are 2 other WT licenses available for teams that are disappearing, why would Bahrain not take over one of those? It makes no sense for them to take over Lampre's WT license, including the entire setup, if Lampre wants to continue.

Guess that's no problem since they simply gonna split the contracts between each other!? Same story as when Astana and US Postal / Discovery Channel / Radioshack parted ways. There moved a couple of guys that certainly got contracts with Astana instead of Capital Sports with Armstrong and Bruyneel. Or did they in fact all sign with Capital Sports like Leipheimer and it was only Contador that signed a 3 year contract directly with Astana in 2008?
